So can anyone help me to understand what is happening? I installed Windows Live Mail & now I can see all the attachments & emoticons. Last week I tried to access some Outlook emails that were more than two years old, the attachments & emoticons do not appear. How would I point img file type to Microsoft Edge?
Not very good with registry, sorry. Should there be .img there? Forwarded some of the emails from Live Mail to myself & now in Outlook the attachments/emoticons all appear as well (all three browser Edge, IE & Chrome). thank you
This is on both PC's & the same result using Edge, IE or Chrome. Goes right from .imesx to .inc. According to the Default File Type Associations - Restore in Windows 10 Tutorial I see img file type has a description of CD or DVD image file no Default App. Don't have either Java or Silverlight installed, guess the newer browsers are moving towards HTML.
Thank you as always When I inspect element on these pictures & emoticons it looks to me as if they are associated img file type. So grasping at straws here am wondering if I point the .reg for img to Microsoft Edge as the html file types are - might that possibly open the pictures inside Outlook? So say for instance I have a 2 & 1/2 year old email in a Outlook folder that will not display attachments/emoticons but the very same email just forwarded from Live Mail to my Outlook inbox now displays all attachments & emoticons Tried inspecting elements but really have no idea what I'm doing.
See msgs regarding HTML, Java Script in Edge? In fact when I browse Choose Default Apps by File Type in Settings I cannot find .img?

Have attachments show in Outlook emails
All my attachements that I send can only be be opened with the paperclip but every now and again I'll get an email from someone and the attachment is right there in the body of the email.
Does anyone know how I can get the icons of my email attachments (the pdf icon for example) to show within the body of the text? I'd like to be able to do that too.
Looking at my blackberry emails makes new emails show as 'unread' on outlook??
However, the issue is that when I am looking at the email panel on my Blackberry (not opening the unread emails), it shows the the emails are marked as 'read' on Outlook even though I never actually opened them on the BB.
SO I check my work email on my blackberry and receive messages there and also on my Outlook Web Access. I know it is not Outlook causing this because the settings are marked for "Do not automatically mark items as Read" setting.
How do I solve this situation?
Outlook Express 6 strips attachments from Outlook 2007 emails
I have checked with my email provider, who has checked the server (IMAP) and they do not see any problem--the attachment is on the server. They are stripped off, not even showing an attachment. And, as far as I know, I am receiving attachments from everyone else in the world. I cannot receive attachments sent from my Outlook 2007 to my OE 6 when I send it to myself.
The attachment comes through to other recipients as far as I know, INCLUDING my alternate email address (through at&t). I know there are ways to work around this problem, but it is irritating and I have concerns that my email attachments to clients may be unknowingly blocked.
I use OE 6 on my desktop running XP pro, but use Outlook 2007 on my laptop running XP home.
Also, I cannot receive those attachments on my Blackberry either.
So OE 6 receives the attachment when I send it from my default email account to my at&t account, but not when I send it to from and to my default account. I have already unchecked all potential blocks under the Security Tab--image blocking and attachment blocking--and am operating in the Internet Zone.
Outlook emails with attachments not sent
I am out of ideas - any help / suggestions most welcome.
I have set up a replacement email account and a new account - problem still persists. Antivirus detects no problems. I have done repair on Office 2003 installation and reinstalled Outlook 2003.
I cannot delete it, I cannot force delete it (Shift - DEL) I cannot drag it anywhere.
Outlook Express 2003 - will not send emails with attachments (specifically Word or Excel documents, it seems that pdf's, jpeg will go)
Operating on XP - fully updated. Emails without attachments go when at the head of the queue - no problem
Any email with an attachment at the top of the queue just sits there trying to send.
I have gone in as a different user on the machine - problem persists. However if I exit Outlook and go back in I still cannot delete it but I can move it (to Deleted items) this is before it tries to do a send/receive.
Outlook Express no show attachments
Something to try - if you right-click on the attachment heading and Save it (to the Desktop for ease of access) and then see if you can open it from there.

OP: Win 7 Using Firefox. I tried numerous times with no success. At 2:10 pm, voila, outlook is there.
Today, I went to log into Outlook and a message came up saying: "Outlook is not in service and problem should be resolved by 2:00 PM". (Paraphrasing but you get the gist). I never had it before & now I have to sign in with a password each time I want to view emails. What should I do or where should I look? Microsoft recently made my email come in through Outlook. (Forgive me if I am not using correct terminology).
Outlook: Remove Attachments From Emails
The only think we would like it to be able to do is not touch the emails as they come into the inbox, but work on them when we have moved them to a backup outlook folder. Looking through this Website I have seen several programs that will intergrate with outlook, remove the attachments from the email and place these in a local folder and place a link to the attachment into the email. TIA
This means that the .pst file grows rapidly.
Can anyone recommend one of these (or from anywhere else) for the job.
Outlook not sending emails with .htm attachments
I would suspect that it could be your firewall or security settings.G
click hereclick hereAlso you could just go to "Tools/Options/security". These attachments and emails are fine when sent internally to other collegues but not when sent to external recipients.Any ideas? If an HTML attachment is sent, the email never reaches the recipient.
I am trying to troubleshoot a problem with Outlook (Office XP version). This also happens when trying to send a web page as a link (via Send/Link by email in Internet Explorer). Now look under "Virus Protection" and turn down the settings.

Save attachments from multiple emails Outlook
I use Outlook 2007 (work) and 2010 (privat).
My first question in this forum....I would like to save attachments from multiple emails in batch.
I did a quick Google search, and it seems that there are multiple VB scripts out there that can do what you want. Are there any plugins or scripts?
Outlook Express can't send emails with attachments
There was no perfect fix for the problem, except to completely uninstall McAfee VirusScan from your computer. I have now completely uninstalled McAfee (I will be getting Norton). Recently, my email started acting up. None of the 68 emails received worked, and the attachments come up as name.jpg.dat.
The only other possibility I found was a mention of an after effect of the Happy virus, preventing users from sending emails with attachments, but it said nothing about sending multiple emails. But the problem remains. My McAfee VirusScan would pop up, trying to stop all the emails, and say that I may have a worm, because of the multiple emails being sent. I use Outlook Express 6 with Windows XP Pro 2002, and have had no problems for about 2 years.
I did an internet search of this problem, and found a forum which discussed this as a bug with the McAfee software, which was causing the email to be sent in multiples. Either the solution (uninstalling McAfee) didn't work, or I have a completely different problem. Anyone have any idea???

Outlook 2000 - Cannot send emails with attachments
I have tried talking to Virgin but they were hopeless.Any ideas ?Marv
Check that youur anti virus program is not blocking attachements in profile 1.
However as soon as I try to send an email WITH an attachment (any attachment, any size) it gets stuck in the Outbox and it will not go. WinXP Sp2.Profile 1 (virgin email) can send emails WITHOUT an attachment no problem.
It then errors thinking there is no transport provider. No problems receiving.Profile 2 - which uses a different email provider - works fine with or without attachments.I have tried: deleting the profiles and setting up from scratchchecking the pst file with inbox repair toolcopying all messages into a new pst filecopying the contacts into a new contacts fileuninstalling and reinstalling OutlookBoth profiles have worked in the past, seemingly with the same settings etc.
HiUsing Outlook 2000 in CW mode with 2 profiles set up.
Attachments Marked Aol In My Outlook Xpress Emails
Does the E-mail appear to be from AOL or from the original sender? Is the attachment the same as the body of the message received?
I closed my AOL account a month ago and now use OE. Regards,
Did you perhaps have your AOL mail forwarded to the new account? I am finding that many, but not all, of my received emails have the paperclip icon which turn out to be marked AOL with some number and the attachment is a copy of the received email!
How do I get rid of this feature as I think it is adding to my download limit?
