Can Win7 still be bought via Microsoft? is the name of the error that contains information about the error, including the reason why it occurred, which system component or application was malfunctioning that caused the error, and other information. The numerical code in the name of the error contains data that can be decoded by the manufacturer of the faulty component or application. An error using this code can occur in many different places in the system. Although the name contains some details, it is still difficult for the user to find and eliminate the cause of the error without specialized technical knowledge or the appropriate software.

From the Forums

A user in the forum details it further:

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-au/windows/get-windows-product-key#get-windows-product-key=windows-7   Give them a call and see if they will sell a license. If not you could always get an OEM licenses, they are still available.   Control Panel >> System and Security >> System I was wondering the same thing recently, but have not needed to ask.

You should be able to find their number when you click activate now from the following location. The topic pretty much says what I'm wondering about...Is it still possible to somehow buy a Win7 license from Microsoft? -if I would first install Win7 without a product code then I'll have to enter a valid product code to be able to activate windows...but...when I try to do that I only get to the link below and all that I can find is Win8.

What causes Can Win7 still be bought via Microsoft?

bought used computer, Win7 "not genuine", Win7 product sticker on case

The computer works with non-genuine copy of windows, but is extremely slow and has to be hard booted to turn off and besides, I don't want to fool with an illegal copy of Windows.  Certainly I'd rather have Ultimate but Home Premium is good enough.

But don't I have to have the disk to run windows 7 Home Pr. Tried anyway, but it was rejected.

Installed = Win 7 Ultimate

Product Key = Win 7 Home Premium

I got a popup window: "You must either run Win 7 Setup or enter a Win 7 Ultimate product key".

Not knowing much about computers, I have no clue how I need to proceed. Setup?

Any possible options greatly appreciated. Turns out the installed Windows 7 is Ultimate and the sticker is for Home Premium.

You're needing to find a Windows 7 Home Premium ISO from a well-known well-respected source.  If you ever want Ultimate, you're going to have to purchase a license, either for an OEM or for a Microsoft 32/64 pack.  After you have legalized the Home Premium, you probably can purchase an upgrade [from Home Premium to Ultimate] for a pretty good price, make sure of your source!  You want a legal version of Ultimate.

I'd really like to wind up with a genuine copy of windows, because apparently auto update will not work without it.
I found a  used desktop (Dell Inspiron) on a facebook sale group - only$20.

First thing I notice: "This copy of Windows is not genu...

Unsure about a copy of Win7 that I bought

I'm not sure what do to here and I only have a month to file a complaint with eBay/PayPal so I need to decide what to do soon. My main concern is that when I upgrade the motherboard later on this year, I'll have to reinstall and then I won't be able to get it to authenticate again on the reinstall. If they did, use the one they gave you if you need to re-install Windows ? but you may not need to since the current hard drive will be connected to the new mobo. The disk looks good and has all the correct holograms but the COA label looks like a fake.

Any suggestions? I couldn't get it to authenticate on line but I did over the phone. I couldn't get it to authenticate on line but I did over the phone. Secondly, did Microsoft give you a valid Product Key to activate Windows?

Firstly, definitely start a case at ebay. I had a situation on ebay a while back where I had purchased/paid for an item and as soon as the seller got my money, they unregistered at ebay so, I never got my item. The disk looks good and has all the correct holograms but the COA label looks like a fake. I bought Vista Ultimate from ebay with only the DVD and COA but, mine activated online.

My main concern is that when I upgrade the motherboard later on this year, I'll have to reinstall and then I won't be able to get it to authenticate again on the reinstall. I filed a case and within a few days, ebay refunded my purchase price. I'm not sure what d...

Reset Win7 Password for PC bought at auction

Selected reset password and I recieved a error message that says use a usb or disk which I have neither. What can I do. Never buy a used laptop unless you have all necessary passwords.

Due to the widespread theft of laptops we are unable to provide help with password issues. Bought a Toshiba laptop at an auction and at the Windows 7 login I do not know the password.

Installed Win7 with old video card. Bought new

AGP, PCI or PCI-e?

I installed Win7 just fine. Any ideas what may be wrong?

It will go a long way to figuring this out.

Win7 used the default VGA drivers. The video card on that computer is old, a Radeon 8500. What kind of card did you get?

The bios screen comes up and post, then it goes to the "starting windows screen", then the computer reboots back to the bios screen. First thing to try is to disable the onboard vga and set your new card's type to be the primary display device, in bios. Also, especially if it's AGP card, please fill in your system specs as best as possible. I installed the new video card.

I purchased a new video card, a GeForce 6600, which has Win7 driver support. No drivers exist for Vista or Win7.

Just bought Win7 Pro RETAIL - how to check it is genuine?

Can I go to MS direct to check (I seem to remember reading that I can't, but am not totally sure)? The seller has good feedback, and I chatted a fair amount with him through eBay messages. I have every reason to trust him, but in spite of that I would still like to check and be 100% sure that what I have is genuine and available for installation (not in use on another PC).

Please note that for various reasons I won't bore you all with, I won't be able to actually use and install the OS for at least a couple of weeks.... Any other ways... Does anyone have any tips as to how I can go about this?

Just bought Win7 Pro RETAIL - how to check it is genuine and not in use?

You can call Microsoft Support but according to the below page they may not know until you try to activate.

Microsoft bought my beer.

I was really bummed that I missed the Microsoft guy, evidently they only have one developer in the work space working on a metro app, and that guy has never used windows 8 on a touch device.

So I'm in Norway. He was down there to give a presentation on Windows 8, the developer environment for Metro apps, and the Surface.

It might have been fun to ask interesting questions about things like: "Hey Microsoft! Originally Posted by stefalopod

On Wednesday I went down to visit my husband's friend at a startup work space in Oslo, at this place: Introducing Startup Summer 2012 teams | Startup Norway

It turned out we had missed the representative from Microsoft by about half an hour. I was really bummed that I missed the Microsoft guy, evidently they only have one developer in the work space working on a metro app, and that guy has never used windows 8 on a touch device. Did you know that developers are making apps that are dependent on the codecs they have installed on their own machine without telling the user what codecs she'll need?" And "What do you intend to do about it?"

Oh well, I was in time to get slightly fewer than 7.2 free beers. Did you know that devel...

Remember when Microsoft bought amiga

But....nothing...what the hell happened? How could we lose now? Also Nokia has the largest marketshare of Windows Phone among other OEMs (Samsung, HTC) so what is the point of killing Nokia? Ballmer is right Microsoft is gaining momentum that's why they bought Nokia.

But....nothing...what the hell happened? They wont kill Nokia it was only leased by Microsoft for a limited period of time. Did he buy it just to kill it off as it was a serious threat in the graphics department (not for games but for animation) the Amiga was used to make programmes like babalon 5 and other sci-fi programmes.so what was the deal? So...what the hell happened to MR Gates buying Amiga? Lets hope the Nokia take over wont result in the same way (not that we Nokia was a competitor as they worked with Microsoft) but you get the idea. If they did that they just kill the Windows Phone OS.

I would love to hear other opinions on this. After that the ownership will goes back to Nokia. Doom and quake was the game for the early 90's...now the Amiga had them too. We will expect a major evolution maybe this year or next year,
In my opinion Microsoft is on the right track right now.

This was a threat to Microsoft perhaps so they bought...

so i bought microsoft word 2007 but.....

YOU MAY ONLY USE THE PRODUCT KEY WITH THIS SOFTWARE

now ive looked, and ive had friends look, and none of us see the "download now" button...im in afghanistan so its hard to call microsoft during their hours cause of the missions i go on..i need this program for my college classes, and now i think i might have to drop at least 2 classes because of this...hopefully i wont have to though.. We are sorry, but we are unable to complete your request. hopefully it dont have to come to that, but maybe i missed something?

or maybe the key will be emailed when they fix the "problem" with generating it??

okay, i went to the actual microsoft website, and purchased the word 2007 program for 149 dollars, but i got the digital back up, and license key..so it came out to 165...i just got paid, so i know i have money in the bank..so i go threw, and ordered it, and i got to the "thank you" screen, and it says this at the top in a red box
Thank You! i also never recieved an email receipt. i guess i should just stay up and call microsoft huh...

The following problem(s) exist:

There was a problem processing your key request

but right below it, it says

BECAUSE YOU HAVE PURCHASED A NEW LICENSE FOR OFFICE 2007 SOFTWARE, YOU MUST PRESS THE ‘Download Now’ BUTTON BELOW IN ORDER TO RECEIVE AND USE THE SOFTWARE.

Has anyone bought Microsoft Lumia 535 and liked it or felt satisfied ?

So you're seeing, for the most part, only comments by those who have issues. I was planing to buy this phone and all the comments I've seen about it are negative especially concerning the display and touch issue.. However the touch is a problem that's fairly common, and looks like its being improved. When someone gets a phone and it works perfectly, they have no reason to complain.

so I'm really confused and would like to know an experience of someone already bought it. In any phone, the people with problems are much more vocal than those without.

So I want out and Bought the Microsoft Office Home and Student

I have to go in through Yahoo!

The Upload went swell, but now I can't get into my E-mail through the Desktop Icon anymore. Is there any way to correct this?

We're going to need a lot more info than this.

1) When you say upload...do you mean install?
2) Are you using Yahoo for e-mail?
3) If not, what service are you using?
4) What does the desktop icon point to?
