How To Fix Cisco 1720 config

TIP: You should click here to fix Windows errors and optimize system speed.

Cisco 1720 config is the name of the error that contains information about the error, including the reason why it occurred, which system component or application was malfunctioning that caused the error, and other information. The numerical code in the name of the error contains data that can be decoded by the manufacturer of the faulty component or application. An error using this code can occur in many different places in the system. Although the name contains some details, it is still difficult for the user to find and eliminate the cause of the error without specialized technical knowledge or the appropriate software.

What causes Cisco 1720 config

If you received this error on your PC, it means that there is a malfunction in your system. Common causes are incorrect or unsuccessful installation or removal of software that could leave invalid entries in the Windows registry, the effects of a virus or malware attack, an incorrect system shutdown due to a power failure, or another factor in which a person with little technical knowledge accidentally deletes the required A system file or registry entry, as well as several other reasons. The immediate cause of "Cisco 1720 config" is a failure when one of its normal operations is properly started by a system or application component.

And my line relibilty goes down from 255 -138 can't figure it out could it be phoneline?

I have a cisco 1720 on my network and its pluged into a 2950 cisco switch.the eth light is suposed to be steady but i blinks and my remote store slows down sometimes aborted.now i run on a 56k frame{i think i'm the only} but the phone company has test and says everything is good, now i have reset our equipment on both sides does not make a difference.but if i reset the switch where the router is pluged into it works great again for about 24hrs then goes back to the way it was. I don't know.

Cisco 1720 Question

I have gotten conflicting answers...some say with a particular IOS, others have said the processor is not suited for trunking. When I do Sh Enc at the config mode prompt the encapsulation command is there...does anyone know if the 1720s are capable of trunking? Whenever I try to enable subinterfaces on the fixed FastEthernet port of the 1720 to enable an 802.1q trunk link, I get an % Unrecognized Command. I have to setup a network for a small business and was intending on using VLANs.

HELP with T1 configuration with a cisco 1720

I just got a cisco 1720 and I don't know how to configure to be able to use my T1 service,
please help me here.

Cisco 1700/1720 AC Adapter?

c.) knows where I can get one for about 10-15 shipped. ($20 is the absolute maximum I can afford to just totally waste on this.)
Mods, if this is inapproprate for the forum, feel free to delete it.

I posted in FS/FT for one of these (where it probably should be) but haven't gotten any bites, so I figure let me ask in the networking forum if anyone:

a.) has one to sell cheap in case my router is indeed shot

b.) would like to lend me/rent one to me. I'll pay shipping both ways.

T1 + cisco 1720 + utilization = huge latency

Am I have delusions of sunshines and rainbows or should the router be able to balance traffic/requests with some kind of QoS so that something like ONE FTP transfer doesn't cause our connection to shit the bed and be useless for everyone else. What seems odd is that when I initiate a downstream FTP transfer or HTTP transfer (ie windows update) and am running at 130-140KB/s, all latency goes to shit. Any ideas?

You could setup traffic shaping to limit bandwidth for certain applications. The only thing I can think of is that we flashed it about a year ago with new firmware (but even then our TAC contact wrote all our config values into the firmware and we flashed it with that).

I really don't seem to remember it being this bad in the past.

We're maxing out our bandwidth on our T1 at times. I can understand that if we're sending/recieving more data than can fit through our pipe we're going to drop packets. What's frustrating is that when our usage is pegged, latency goes to shit.

I've spoken with a collegue who has the same router on a T1 and doesn't seem to have the same issues. It's somewhat understandable as we've increased headcount and there's a lot more younger employees on our network. You may want to poll your router for SNMP data regarding errors/cpu and memory utilization. show process command may help also

Cisco Config

Sounds like an overkill right, well there are over 1.4 million documents that need to be scanned in and transferred from office a to office b. I am assuming we are going to have to configure an internal ip on these systems to allow the systems that will be plugged into the router to talk to each other. In any case I need help in configuring these routers, of course there is no other information from the telco other then they are the basic ESF Frame and b8zs Linecode.

We have to configure our own routers to have the two offices connect to each other. There will be no bandwidth hooked up to these lines as it is just going to be used to connect the two offices together for document storage. Can anyone shed any light on any of this for me. Each office has over a million docs to scan so thsi was the solution we were instructed to go with.

We have ordered two T1's for two of our offices to connected them via a PPP. We have cisco 1721 routers with a T1 WIC. I have been going through all the docs and test configs on cisco.com but nothing seems to be correct.

Cisco Pix 506 config

I'm going to do a search and try to find out the proper config to shut down all un-necessary data from traveling in and out of the network. I want to stop this all together. Steve
www.cisco-forum.com

I've got a Cisco Pix 506(not the 506e, the older version), that's been mostly untouched for the past 2 years.

Unfortunely I don't know enough to the point where I might get myself in trouble. Any suggestions from those more familiar with Cisco products and/ot CCNA's(or higher)?

I also have plenty of PIX experience and would be happy to help. Here is the stats on the Pix:

Firewall# sh ver

Cisco PIX Firewall Version 6.2(2)
Cisco PIX Device Manager Version 2.0(2)

Compiled on Fri 07-Jun-02 17:49 by morlee

Firewall up 230 days 2 hours

Hardware: PIX-506, 32 MB RAM, CPU Pentium 200 MHz
Flash i28F640J5 @ 0x300, 8MB
BIOS Flash AT29C257 @ 0xfffd8000, 32KB

Should I stick with this rather old build or should I think about getting a Cisco contract and upgrade it?

It's worked fine for what I need, but recently I've had problems with a user(who is set to a power user on his desktop because of a certain program) who uses a proxy occasionally.

cisco config for NAT

from the routers command line I can ping the 4.*.*.* address but I can not ping int E1's address. I enabled nat and specified the following pool of address' 172.255.224.10 172.255.224.20. I recently aquired cisco config maker to make life a bit easier. When I issue the same command for int E1, it says int e1 is up line protocol is down.

I ran the Config maker program, and entered the following info: For int E0 I gave the ip info from my provider which is: 4.*.*.* and subnet 255.255.252.0. I allowed the config maker to reconfig the router with the previously mentioned info. For int E1 i put in the following made up address 172.255.224.1 255.255.255.0.

Any help is really appreciated

I'm assuming that is the problem here(line protocol is down), what does that mean? I'm attempting to run my DSL line into int E0 and configure int E1 for the host machines to access internet thru.

I have the following: One cisco 2514 router, a DSL connection, and several host machines.

Upon closer inspection via show interface E0, I see that it says int e0 is up and line protocol is up.

Cisco config help

Need a tip in the right direction. Use the command:
switchport trunk allowed vlan add vlan#

Without the add command, it will change the trunk to only allow the VLAN that you specify instead of adding it. I am trying to configure a Cisco catalyst 3560 switch to allow a second Vlan but when I run the commands it moved the ports into that Vlan vs just adding the Vlan.

Hope this helps. If not, post a sh run and we can correct it.

Cisco ASA Config - Question

I have been asked to setup a VPN on a stick setup so that people on the move can use the encryption of our SSL VPN for web browsing etc using AnyConnect

This works fine, whatsmyip shows the external IP of the office when connected to the VPN and all traffic is pushed down the pipe. Has anyone ever done this on a 5505? The only issue is when connected I have no access to local resources such as IP printers etc.

Cisco 2600 Config help

Communication to the devices stops. Communication from on the same network still works, so the router is stopping packets or something.

I have a 2600 routing between to networks and the routing and broadcasting works fine.

Except the router seems to stop routing packets after about 5 minutes of continuous pings from one network to the other. This will give us a much clearer picture of what's going on, without having to play 20 questions down the road.

Is there some sorta "keep alive" command I need to impliment or something to that effect? Any info helps.

Cisco Router config

Currently they are all on the same subnet, and most of my servers are in my VMware test lab. ExampleName(config)#ip route 172.16.0.0 255.255.255.0 192.168.150.1

http://www.joshgentry.com/cisco/cisco.htm

*Note:
It's been a while since I had to work with a Cisco router so I'm taking a stab in the dark, be forewarned. I really have no idea what to look for, but if you could point me in the right direction that would be sweet.

Just create a static route.

I am trying to figure out how to do this:

I want multiple external IP, if possible still NATed to diffrent interal ips, IE

Code:

External_IP_1 External_ip_2 External_ip_3
\________|_______ /
|___Cisco 3725___|
/ | \
OWA server WEB server rest of network
IP_1 IP_2 IP_3

Something similer to that, now those servers can all out thought the same external ip, but for inbound i would like them to be seperated.

If this is wrong then I would hope someone corrects me.

I'm thinking it's just a simply route issue.
