How To Fix Corrupted registration key? Invalid location ID?

Corrupted registration key? Invalid location ID? is the name of the error that contains information about the error, including the reason why it occurred, which system component or application was malfunctioning that caused the error, and other information. The numerical code in the name of the error contains data that can be decoded by the manufacturer of the faulty component or application. An error using this code can occur in many different places in the system. Although the name contains some details, it is still difficult for the user to find and eliminate the cause of the error without specialized technical knowledge or the appropriate software.

From the Forums

A user in the forum details it further:

I think that ever since I upgraded to 8.1 it has been telling me to reactivate Windows, but I have not used it much in two and a half years, so I cannot say for sure. Can anyone provide me help? Thank you very much! At least tell me where to look now?

Microsoft told me to call HP, who said the key was corrupted, but reinstalling Windows would fix it. Squaretrade requires the Windows activation key to repair my laptop, which came without an optical drive, so it would not have had an installation DVD. I could send it in one more time using the extended warranty, but an older laptop was working, so I put away the HP, although I am trying to send it in now. How do you find that, SLUI 4?

As I recall, I needed to reactivate Windows afterwards, and ended up calling Microsoft, after a great deal of wasted time. I did not want Win8 or a touchscreen, but that was all that I could find. Then some screw holes stripped (?!) on the bottom and the hinges worked loose. Windows did not give me an option for phone activation, so I tracked down the number, and the automated system sent me to Microsoft Product Activation, which asked for my location ID.

I bought an HP Envy 15 May of 2013. The screen cracked again, apparently from flexing. Hours and hours, several restarts, and hundreds of updates later, I still do not have any idea how to fix an invalid location ID or how the registration key for preinstalled Windows is invalid. It told me that my installation ID was invalid.

That would have been a helpful step to include at some point. I found a tool (off Download.com) to show me my key, but it gave me something completely different than the last five digits that Windows shows, and the system says that it is invalid. I hardly used it the first two weeks and then the screen cracked, so I sent it in under the extended warranty. I cannot find any registration keys anywhere, like I am accustomed.

What causes Corrupted registration key? Invalid location ID?

location of spyware doctor registration

I have Spyware Doctor 5.1 installed. An uninstall removes the files and some registry entries but the registration information still hangs around. If I reinstall SD5.1 the same registration info still exists.

I want to COMPLETELY remove all traces of the program. Does anybody know the registry key(s) or file(s) that need to be deleted to vanish the SD registration info from PC. I have read the registration data is contained in registry values and/or hidden files.

D:\ Invalid access to memory location

Nothing via Google relates to this error with flashstick access. It works on other machines fine. I ran chkdsk with repair switch on it just now on same machine and it completed although log is not in Applications Event viewer.

Update: Just got the same error with a long string of numbers when I tried to print to wireless printer which otherwise works. Solved: Apparently it was a bad flashplayer plug-in update earlier today, because after SysRestoring from WinRE on F8 menu, the problems were gone.

Any ideas?

I am getting this error when trying to access my Kingston Data Traveler flash stick on laptop today.

invalid access to memory location

I use Windows Vista System 32. Most likely this error is being caused by a corruption of your nVidia video drivers. It had applied a floppy driver at the beginning of the boot but I was able to fix the problem by deleting if through the F2 Repair screen, now I'm getting this error message once I'm in Windows that says " Error loading C:\Windows\System32\nvsvc.dll ".Your help will be greatly appreciated.

I had this problem with my Bios sequence. Uninstall the program from Control Panel...Programs, then visit http://www.nvidia.com to download the latest driver and install it.

Solved: Invalid access to memory location

I'm having touble getting rid of a error message that says the following : "error loading C:\windows\system32\nvsvc.dll ". Please advise as to how to remove...thank you...

Icon Unkown location - Deletion Invalid.

More of a self-solved problem that I thought I'd share in case this might happen in the future to someone else:

I was trying to remove a bunch of icons from my desktop, but it said that the file location of those images could no longer be found, so deleting or doing anything to those icons was prohibited. Then I thought: I could just tap this Icon twice and yell "ReBoot!" and the problem would fix itself. All kidding aside, It dawned on me that explorer.exe (the program that runs the UI for windows) could have frozen or malfunctioned causing the icon problem; so, I rebooted it, and the icons of unknown origin disappeared. (Not to different from the proposed joke solution eh?)

Invalid Access to Memory Location Virus

If someone could provide help soon that would be fantastic. Basically every time I try to run an executable, the error message, "Invalid Access to Memory Location" shows and prevents me from running the program. This virus effects all my programs.

I have searched online and i have found results only for specific programs.

I have no idea as to where this virus came from because the laptop it is on hasn't been in use for a while so i can't help if you want to know the origin. I have already tried running MalwareBytes software from my flash drive but the virus even prevents it there.

Invalid or Corrupted Excel file

I'd a excel file which was working fine but unfortunately i lost it. There is no direct solution for these problems. Now while opening it throws me an warning message as " invalid format or corrupted " or " some unauthenticated Source so would like to open it ? ".

But i was able to recover using some licensed data recovery softwares. I kindly request some 2 help me as it has got some vital data's so plzzzzz
Thanx in advance !

There are editor or viewer programs so at least you can see the data, what you can see, you can copy and paste into a new sheet or another app and see what you can recover. If i open it then all the contents changes into a special characters, unreadable format.. If there is more than one worksheet then if gets even worse, sorry but that's more or less the conclusion

AOL Toolbar files -- corrupted or invalid

Once that is done reboot the computer. Is this problem something AOL should take care of, or can someone on this forum help me? Kind Regards,
I get the message when I access AOL through Internet Explorer too, but it eventually disappears if I hit "OK" a couple of times.

I did a system restore and got rid of the above message, but I still got the error report about the corrupted or invalid toolbar. I'm unable to access anything that uses Java. When downloading only use the 'save' option not "Run" or 'Open'...Save it to a folder on your computer and reinstall it from there. I can't uninstall or reinstall Java either.

If you really need the AOL Toolbar; then, go to the AOL website; download and reinstall it again. Post back with the results. I suggest that you go into the Control Panel Add/Remove Program Section and Remove the offending AOL Toolbar. For the past couple of days I've been trying to solve a problem that started with an error message about the tool bar.

Online Disconnected Wan Min Port (L2TP). If it sounds like the problem can't be solved by either of these ways, please let me know so I can call the repair person who has taken care of a lot of computer problems for me in the past.

This is my first post and I hope I can find out what I need to do.

I have now undone and redone several system restores, and keep getting the same message about the tool bar. I couldn't sign on to AOL, so I checked in Netwo...

The compressed (zipped) folder is invalid or corrupted.

The .zip folder was hidden and password protected. The .zip folder's name was "Biochemistry Module Courseworks". So I really don't know what to do >< if you need any info:
I'm on Windows XP (used to be media center, but somehow not anymore)
The .zip folder was in a folder in the My Documents folder.

I get the error message as soon as I click on it, it doesn't prompt me for password. The only thing I can think of is that last week I had deleted everything in the "Local Settings\Temp" folder, since I noticed it was 2gb big, and I researched on the internet and found doing so was harmless, so I wouldn't have pinned it on this.

Hey guys, I hope this is the right section to post this in. I am really not sure why, and have not done anything which I would have thought would ruin that folder.

I put them all in the .zip folder, and once I had completed the course module I didn't want to throw them away, so I just protected them with a password (with the .zip password utility, not any external program), and made the .zip folder a hidden file, in a folder in the My Documents folder. I remember I used to be able to access it, and I have gone back to it every now and then. However today when I needed to check one of my courseworks, I could no longer access it and it gave me the message "The compressed (zipped) folder is invalid or corrupted." when I click on it. A while ago I made a zip folder to contain...
