How To Fix CreateProcess failed; code 5
Having a sign that tells us of issues that we need to solve in life for us to move forward is a great idea. While it does not always work in life, it does in computers. Messages that indicate the issues your computer encounters are called error codes. They appear whenever there is a problem such as incorrect data input or faulty hardware. Computer programmers add predefined error codes and messages in their system codes so whenever there is an issue, it prompts the users. While error codes may be predefined, there are different sets of error codes with different meanings for other kinds of computer programs.
From the Forums
A user in the forum details it further:
So I am thinking that AVG may tag a file during install as a virus. Has anyone determined this to be the case? I have noticed similar posts to my own but none seem to have a solution. They involved installing various types of software and a failure to launch problem.
Every computer is different.Uninstall AVG, using AVG Remover: http://www.avg.com/us-en/download-tools and see, if it solves the problem. If not, you can always reinstall it. Which then sets of a slew of complications. The constant between these issues was Vista and AVG.
And if so is there a work around or must I uninstall AVG to get through this?
What causes CreateProcess failed; code 5
If you received this error on your PC, it means that there is a malfunction in your system. Common causes are incorrect or unsuccessful installation or removal of software that could leave invalid entries in the Windows registry, the effects of a virus or malware attack, an incorrect system shutdown due to a power failure, or another factor in which a person with little technical knowledge accidentally deletes the required A system file or registry entry, as well as several other reasons. CreateProcess Failed; Code 2
Then I tried to re-install it. My automatic Windows updates are getting turned off frequently too. It's like the program doesn't exist anymore.
It then asked me to search the computer for the file needed to run it. Please help.
Ok, I had Malware Bytes Anti-Malware on my computer and experienced some complications, so I tried to run it. Unable to execute file:
C:\Program Files\Malware Byte's Anti-Malware\mbam.exe
CreateProcess Failed; code 2
The system cannot find the file specified
That program helped me wipe out all the bad stuff that was on my computer and w/o it, I don't know what to do.
I run Windows XP, if that helps.
Got all the way to the end of the installation and it then told me...

Trojan Horse Causing 'createprocess Failed' Message?
I chose the 'heal' option offered by AVG. So basically I have no idea what's going on. My problem is:
This morning I attempted to open an application - Teamspeak 2 - that I use every day.
So I uninstalled again and ran an AVG scan which came up with the threat and choose the send to vault option. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item'. After doing that I tried to reinstall teamspeak2 again and it seems to install but wouldn't open. Same messages coming up plus 'Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file.
I ended up uninstalling and reinstalling the application (dling from goteamspeak.com) and after installing the same two messages displayed again: 'Unable to execute file: c:\program files\teamspeak2_RC2\teamSpeak.exe. Secondly, I know practically nothing about PCs. I also dled the free Ad-aware program and ran a scan on that, which came up with 114 privacy issues but nothing critical. CreateProcess failed; code 5' and threat found: Backdoor.DarkMoon.fw.
It wouldn't open and came up with an AVG threat found message - Backdoor.DarkMoon.fw. Which I'm pretty sure I do as there's only one account. Any help would be much appreciated!
After my computer restarted I tried to open the application again using the shortcut and the message appeared <shortcut has been moved or deleted and cannot be used> or some...

If the file is too large (8MB compressed), remove the older CBSPersist cab files until the final file is below the limit - you can always post them separately after zipping them. (the forum doesn't allow the upload of bare CAB files, for a number of reasons)
failed new Windows Update installer code 800F081F after code 80072EE2
To check for Windows Updates, you must first install an update for Windows Update. I attach the logs: however, the copy of the entire CBS folder is too large as a zip to attach (12 MB), so I have only attached the most recent logs. I am very much hoping someone can help me, or maybe just tell me that it's OK to continue working without any Windows and Office updates coming in ? Please download and install Malwarebytes Anti-malware (free version) from http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free/ - UNtick 'Enable free trial of MBAM Premium' at the end of the installation - and update it, then run a full scan in your main account, and Quick scans in any other user accounts.

Thereafter, only failure messages in the log (now wiped clean, as a result of following one of the suggestions I found). Method 12: chkdsk results in the answer: "the drive, the path, or the file name is not valid"
I have now found this forum and have followed the instructions here to prepare for asking help. Something seems to have happened on or after 19 July -- the final date that updates were installed.
I can no longer use Windows Update. When I click "check for updates", I receive a message that a problem occurred. Quarantine everything it finds
So I can also not make recovery DVDs etc.

Error: CreateProcess PLEASE HELP
I decided, after about a year, I wanted to play Black & White again. What do I need to do?
Hiya and welcome
That seems to be your temp folder. Regards
Also, have you tried uninstalling the game, then reinstalling it?
So I installed it, but when I try to execute it, I get this in the title part:
and then this in the box part:
The system cannot find the file specified. Go to Windows Explorer and navigate to c:windows\temp
Empty all in there.
IE 9 failed - Code 8000FFFF Code 9C6
I appreciate any suggestions!
Errors found Code 8000FFFF Code 9C6
I have tried many of the suggestions I have read here - including 'Fixit' which tells me the problem is corrected - but I have not been able to fix this problem.
I cannot install IE 9 because I need to update windows 7 first and I get this message:
Some updates were not installed.
Failed 6 updates.
Createprocess () returned 2 error message
Daughter downloaded exe game and when we try and open it the error message createprocess() returned 2 shows up.
CreateProcess with extended length path fails ERROR_INSUFFICIENT_BUFFER
I thought maybe if I changed the current directory to my extended path I could create the process without specifying its path. This is even if I break apart the extended path's components (which are each less than MAX_PATH) and try to do a bunch of relative directory changes. Unfortunately SetCurrentDirectory only accepts a max length of MAX_PATH - 1. RtlSetCurrentDirectory_U doesn't seem to be any better
because it returns STATUS_NAME_TOO_LONG.
For example I have one that is 559 characters. Don't hesitate to move it if there is somewhere more appropriate. CreateProcess returns ERROR_INSUFFICIENT_BUFFER (122).
Is there any way to execute processes with an extended path length > MAX_PATH, other than the GetShortPathNameW() workaround which may or may not work? I found two similar problems on Q&A site stackoverflow:
How to get CreateProcess/CreateProcessW to execute a process in a path > MAX_PATH characters
LoadLibraryW fails with 122 ERROR_INSUFFICIENT_BUFFER
So is this a known issue? I am specifying the extended path properly using \\?\. I have looked through all the parameters
and I can't figure out why.
I can see when I debug that CreateProcessW is calling NtCreateUserProcess which is returning STATUS_BUFFER_TOO_SMALL. I have some processes that I can't start because their fully qualified path is longer than MAX_PATH. I put this in the Misc forum because I'm not sure where else to put it.
Add simple entry to explorer context menu(CreateProcess static verb).
It seems to me that it should require nothing more than a registry update. Welcome to Seven Forums Bannerdog. It seems to me that Microsoft documenters sometimes make extraordinary efforts to obfuscate simple procedures. I suspect that I wish to use a "CreateProcess" static verb.
If I right-click on ANY file or folder, I want the context menu to contain an, entry, call it "Foo", that, if clicked, will execute (say) "c:\bin\foo.exe %1", in which %1 is the path of the selected folder or file. Let me be clear about something:
I don't want the application to be available/invoked for specific file types. I want the relevant context menu option available for any folder or file that is right-clicked. Such functionality should not require implementing a COM interface.
Context Menu Editor: Add remove Context Menus in Windows
If not, someone with greater knowledge then I will be needed
See if something simple like this will do what you want. One would think that googling '"windows context menu" CreateProcess' would find simple instructions for performing this presumably simple (and, I would think common) task.
I wish to add an entry to the context menu displayed in Windows Explorer, invoking a command line program with the file (or folder) path as an argument. Think of the "copy" and "delete" entries on the context menu, which apply to all file and folder types (and which have nothing ...

ShellExecute failed;Code 267
Each time I go to use my RegistryBooster and/or PowerSuite (12261593) programs I get an error message:
"ShellExecute failed;Code 267 The direcotry name is invalid" and cannot use any of my Uniblue products. No need for it at all -
Regards. . .
Run Nirsoft ShellExView - http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/shexview.html
It may be the Uniblue apps that started these problems in the first place. Does anyone have a solution? I would not use a reg cleaner.
Load Library FAILED; Code 126
Everything is fine until today , (I even played some games after that re-organizing) there's this pop up after I started my laptop this morning. Do I need to bother about it? As usual I powered it up and it booted and just the moment before my ESET banner appears on startup there's this pop up reading
"C:\Program Files\Common Files\Intel\ata plugin\ATA PlugIn.ax
Unable to register the DLL/OCX: Load Library Failed;Code 126.
I was re-organizing my HD lately and uninstalled some unused programs.
If you have any restore points you may be able to get the file back using ShadowExplorer freeware. ShadowExplorer is a lot like running and undeleter. Find the file in the restore point and just extract it. Help me asap please.
I'm assuming you don't want to run the restore point and undo everything. Copy it back to its original location. If it still gives the error try opening an Admin Command Prompt in that folder and typing
regsvr32 "ATA PlugIn.ax" If there is a space in the filename you need to put the double quotes or regsvr32 with try to register using the filename cut off at the first space character.
I used Revo- Uninstaller for uninstalling. The specific module could not be found "
I restarted the system but didn't find it again.
