What causes Dell Wireless WLAN Card Wireless Network Controller has stopped working

Seeing a network error while you are in time constraints can be annoying but there are still solutions to these errors. Once an error message appears, you can click on the Diagnose option using the Windows wizard to run a diagnosis of the problem. After several minutes, Windows will show you the cause of the problem while also providing the right solutions. However, there are times when Windows may not give you all the answers so you need to fix it manually. First, you need to change your adapter settings. Look for the settings in the Network and Sharing center. Second, reset the TCP/IP. If changing the adapter setting, you can change the TCP/IP. Third is to uninstall network adapters so you can scan and apply any changes in the hardware.

Integrated Wireless Controller/PC Card Adapter/Ethernet port stopped working

Your device may not function properly

I then, believing it was a driver issue, downloaded the latest drivers from the intel website for my device on another computer. The network adapter for the onboard NIC doesn't show up in device manager. So hopefully someone will be able to help. Then got the message:

A problem occurred during hardware installation.

I also tried these steps in safe mode to no avail. This was also unsuccessful. These are my system specs:

Toshiba Portege M205 tablet PC
Windows XP tablet pc sp 2
1.5 Ghz processor
2 GB ram
74.5 GB HD (51.1 GB available)
ACPI Bios version 1.20

Please let me know if you need any more info, and I apologize for the length of my post. I then received the message:

A problem occurred during hardware installation.

I installed the drivers on my laptop, restarted, then plugged the card into my laptop. When I returned home, I pulled tmy wife's pc card network adapter from her laptop (D-Link Air DWL-650 Wireless PC Card(rev.P)). I also ran a virus scan with symantec Antivirus (program 10.1.5.5000 Scan engine: 81.3.0.13 virus definition file 3/29/2009 rev. 3). When this happens sometimes a USB adapter will work.

I have read/searched through most of the posts on this and various other sites and can't seem to find help with my problem. I went to device manager, and it too had a yellow triangle next to it. If it is already enabled, or doesn't show there, see my first paragraph. Whe...

Dell 1520 Inspiron Problem with Dell Wireless 1390 WLAN Mini-Card

You can try installing the driver in compatibility mode. I recently upgraded to Windows 7, ever since then I have had terrible trouble with my Wireless Card. The driver for the card often comes up as not being able to start I often get Dell Wireless 1390 WLAN Mini-Card can not start Code 10.

I really am hoping that I can get some help here as Dell is not bothered to help as I am out of warranty and they don't seem to care about this older model laptop. I have read that this was a problem when reinstalling a OS or installing a new one with this card. HOW TO: Install a Hardware Device Driver using Compatibility Mode

I believe I may need a driver for the chip set or something similar.

I also understand that I may have to swap back to Vista though I really do hope I don't. I had Vista running on my Inspiron 1520 Laptop. Dell does not have a Windows 7 driver for your card. Dia dhuit.

I do believe that a recent update from Dell has made this problem chronic as I did not have this problem when I immediately got the laptop back.

Dell Wireless WLAN Card problem

I frequently get an error message saying, "Dell Wireless WLAN Card Wireless Network Controller stopped working and was closed.

Can anyone give me some advice please? This sounds like a driver corruption issue.

A problem caused the application to stop working correctly."

There doesn't seem to be any changes so I'm at a loss as to why this is appearing. I also use Incredimail as my mail server. I have a Dell Inspiron 1720 laptop, run Vista HP, Avast AV, and Firefox is my browser. Any ideas as to what I can do?

Reload the wireless drivers, even though they're the latest ones.

Dell 1390 WLAN Wireless Card Problems

i saved it. Any advice that does not require buying a usb adapter?

Now, when
i try to adjust it, it reverts back to the incorrect code.

Unfortunately. When i created a preferred network profile, I incorrectly typed in a WEP network key. This happens if i create a new profile with the same SSID.

I have been having some problems with my network profiles.

Dell Wireless 1390 WLAN mini-card.

I called technical support for Dell and because my warranty has expired they want 29 to pay for this solution. I am using a Dell Inspiron 1520. Bit frustrated, my sister got a new laptop, the one Im using to post this, and connected straight away to my home wireless, and can also view surrounding connections, (neighbours) etc. I cant.

Windows Vista, trying to connect to home wireless and nothing out of the ordinary has happened for this to happen. Its a problem with my mini-card it says "This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device." However, I clicked to get updated drivers and it said I already had the advanced one? If anyone can help I would very much appreciate it.

Updated Dell Wireless 1505 Draft 802.11n WLAN Mini-Card Worse Connect

Whenever I run Microsoft Update it tells me to upgrade to the latest drivers, however, with the newest drivers I experience a SIGNIFICANT drop in throughput- something like from 108 mbps with my current setup to 1-15 mbps with the "updated" drivers.

I currently use drivers from 2008:

Driver Version 4.176.75.21 - 10/1/2008

for my Dell Wireless 1505 Draft 802.11n WLAN Mini-Card. If is listed as an important update, right-click the update and hide it. You can also look at the fixes and enhancements listed on the Dell site to determine if you really need it.

Otherwise it is better to just leave well enough alone. If the new driver causes problems and the old one works fine, best to just stick with the old driver. If you are set on updating, you can try downloading the driver from the Dell website (link below) and uninstalling the old driver prior to installing the new driver.

I'd like to have the most up to date driver, but do not want to limit my Wifi bandwidth either. Typically you only need to update your drivers if you are experiencing problems or the new driver adds some functionality. PS I'm a brand new user, so I apologize if this is not a well written post! Driver Details | Dell United States

Any advice would be greatly appreciated-- all my system info *should* be in my profile.

Dell 1390 WLAN Mini-Card unable to recognize specific wireless signal

Now, I have not done any diagnostics yet or tried to figure this matter out in depth, simply because I don't have the know-how to advance any further. So if anybody can figure out this problem and be of help, I would be very grateful. Sometimes it does show up and when I click on it and try to connect, sometimes the signal disappears sometimes it has limited or no connectivity, but never anything consistently close to a stable connection. The strange thing is that when I open the Dell utility and go to the "Site Monitor" tab, the very same router's wireless signal is picked up without fail as a 54 speed at full signal strength.

Fastweb is an Italian ISP that provides its own proprietary router (a Telsey) to use. I think in Italy the wireless channels are 1-13. But when I click on the first tab, the "Wireless Networks" tab and click on "add a network" then it shows a list of available networks-- and the Fastweb router is often not on there! Only for a couple of hours one night was I able to connect for a reasonable amount of time, which was incidentially the first night that I tried to test it out by having Windows manage the connection.

Even though I am able to connect to it by wired ethernet, and any other computer/wi-fi enabled device is also able to connect to it wirelessly, my computer just does not pick up the wireless signal from the router. Also, my computer has no problem picking up other wireless signals/connec...

Windows 8 Driver for Dell Wireless 1510 N WLAN MiniCard ( 4322 ) - slow network connection

This driver has connection stability issues with both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz access points.
It is being reported by many users that after upgrading to Windows 8, this wireless adapter experiences extremely slow network throughput and connection problems.
This adapter with Windows7 was very stable with great network speed. There seems to be an issue with the Windows 8 default driver for the Dell Wireless 1510 N WLAN MiniCard (Broadcom 4322 chip).

The W8 driver initially installed is Microsoft v5.100.245.20. The defective driver (Microsoft signed v5.100.245.20) was provided as the initial driver with Windows 8 upgrade.  I was hoping MS would be interested in understanding there is an issue with this driver.

Is it possible to get this information back to Microsoft, and have them work with Broadcom and Dell to provide an updated stable Windows 8 driver for the Dell Wireless
1510 N WLAN Mini Card I did contact Dell, but it useless trying to get feedback into Dell. The work around we have found is to get an older Win7 driver
(Broadcom v.5.100.235.12)
from Dell and manually force it to install using ?Have Disk? method.
