How To Fix disabling instant messenger

TIP: You should click here to fix Windows errors and optimize system speed.

disabling instant messenger is the name of the error that contains information about the error, including the reason why it occurred, which system component or application was malfunctioning that caused the error, and other information. The numerical code in the name of the error contains data that can be decoded by the manufacturer of the faulty component or application. An error using this code can occur in many different places in the system. Although the name contains some details, it is still difficult for the user to find and eliminate the cause of the error without specialized technical knowledge or the appropriate software.

From the Forums

A user in the forum details it further:

I would like to do the same in my new laptop running Windows 7 home premium but do not know how to do it in W7. Can someone kindly advise? There are none installed by default, so just don't install one.

I never use IM and in XP I always disabled it.

What causes disabling instant messenger

If you received this error on your PC, it means that there is a malfunction in your system. Common causes are incorrect or unsuccessful installation or removal of software that could leave invalid entries in the Windows registry, the effects of a virus or malware attack, an incorrect system shutdown due to a power failure, or another factor in which a person with little technical knowledge accidentally deletes the required A system file or registry entry, as well as several other reasons. The immediate cause of "disabling instant messenger" is a failure when one of its normal operations is properly started by a system or application component.

Instant Messenger Causing Messenger To Crash

You click on the message and it freezes then searches for a solution before completly closing. This has also happened after I have opened an Instant Messenger Window, had a few lines of chat and then it freezes.

I am about to remove both and see if that works, but wondered if anyone had any ideas

I have some idea that It might be a Java problem.....I have removed Messenger completly and re-installed it, also up-dated it and up dated Java.

AIM or MS Instant Messenger

My son seems to need to use AIM instant messenger, but I have been told this could be the cause of redirects or highjacks i have experienced. Also I have in my add remove programs something called AccountLogon what is this ??

Try Gaim, I don't trust AOL because they are in it for the money, GAIM is open source and free and supports AIM, ICQ, Jabber, Yahoo, MSN and others all in the same program.

I was told this gives a open port for someone to gain access, is this a problem and should I delete AIM and disable Microsoft Instant Messenger?

AOL Instant Messenger (AIM)

ok i use AIM alot. How can you change it so that instead of AIM saying that my service is Uncomfirmed Internet so that it says my ISP? You know how when u move your mouse over the names on your buddylist it says how long they've been on, their ISP, etc.

If thats even possible.... Thanx in advance.

AOL Instant Messenger 4.0

If you're the one trying to do the harassing, stop now. If you're gettin harassed or somethin, just report the username to AOL.

It might be a pain, but it works.

Old AOL Instant Messenger (AIM)

I REFUSE to upgrade to the "NEWER" AIM.

Does anyone have or know where I can download the "OLD" AIM (To be more specific, Version 5.2.3292)? I just reformatted the harddrive on my desktop so i need to reinstall all my programs. Thanx.

I have that version if you want it, or try

MSN Instant Messenger

You could remove it from there.

How do I remove IM from Windows 2000?

Instant Messenger for LAN's??

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Does anyone know of a good instant messenger program that can exclusively be used within LAN's? We are looking for a free or cheap solution at work that will allow our tech support staff to communicate with each other without the communication travelling over the internet.

We have internet connections on all our PC's but the info that we may be discussing over the messenger is private and confidential and cannot travel over public internet servers.

Aol Instant Messenger help

Same error. Help!
I then tried to reconnect numerous times with a "server error" I re-installed it.

The aimpro.exe client cannot even download the information from the Aim server. It's appearing to not be able to connect to the aim server. And it still doesn't work. Just to be sure i went to and tried to log onto Aim..

Restarted my pc, And instaleld The Aim pro client instead of the Aim 6 Client. I then uninstalled it.

About 20 Minutes Ago i was talking on Aim and got disconnected.

Instant Messenger

AIM just tells me that "A server error occurred" and MSN gives me the error code 80072efd. It was finally fixed but it was a bit of a hassel.

Over the last two days I have been unable to run either AIM or MSN Messenger.

I am using a cingular aircard to connect to the internet which had a problem this past weekend. I have uninstalled and reinstalled both programs. I have run various virus and spyware scans and I still cannot figure out why they will not run. Any ideas?

Help with AOL Instant Messenger

I went home for the weekend, & took my laptop w/ me & when I came back & tried to use AIM, it would load but very slowly, or sometimes, it would not load at all ("Buddy List cannot load" error). Other than that, you might wanna use hijackthis and see if anything foreign is on the comp, that might be using up resources and slowing down the system, along with running adaware and spybot just to be safe.

Or, is there something wrong w/ the EtherNet or AIM servers?

My AOL Instant Messenger was working totally fine all last week.

I'm currently hooked up to the Internet via an EtherNet connection (college campus). Any help is appreciated.... When it does load, everything seems to load & move rather slowly (Like people's profiles loading & sending messages).

I can search webpages just as well as I did before & also download things just as well. Could this possibly be blocked by a firewall just recently? I've tried reinstalling AIM, but that didn't work.

Is there a log for Aol Instant Messenger

If there isn't can someone recommend any software that is inexpensive and easy to use?

Is there a log when people using aol instant messenger? I would like to know if my son is chatting when mom and dad are not home?

ads in instant messenger

anyone know how to get rid of those damn advertisements and commercials?

AOL Instant Messenger vs. Me

I'm having a very frustrating problem with my AIM, as are at least 5 of my friends.

Hey there, you guys have a great site! It just knocks us all off at once! Sigh.

Quite often, when I'm online and talking to my buddies, someone's AIM will crash, promptly taking the rest of us offline as well. We all have AOL Instant Messenger Version 5.2, but I don't know if it's the version of AIM, because it's done it with every version I've had. It usually doesn't knock us off the internet all together, just AIM. So I'm just hoping someone may have some insight into what's going on here.

We all also have a dial-up connection, and none of my friends with a cable connection have these issues. Thank you.

It's been going on for quite awhile, even after upgrading to a higher version.

I appreciate it!

AOL instant messenger

can i get any input on this?JimMod Edit: Links removed for the saftey of other members. click on it and nothe visually happens, then it deletes itself from desktop.
Got a link in AIM today and it was when the URL loads it wants to dowload a file, the file that actually downloads is named checkit.exe.

None of the virus scanners or ad ware or anything else seems to detect anything going on. and continuosly send the link to you all your friends on the buddy list. I got a virus almost exactly the same as that one the first thing i did was log off aim so my friends did not get the same thing then reloaded aim and have had no truble since

Instant messenger always on top

Just uncheck the box.

Does anyone know a way to always have the instant messenger on top of all other windows(including direct 3d programs)? Look at the options of your Messenger.

There should be the option "Always on top" located somewhere in there.

AIM AOL Instant Messenger

I've being using it for ages and have never been with AOL: it can be downloaded from click here.Or you could use something like Trillian which lets you chat to people on AOL Instant Messenger, ICQ, and MSN Messenger through the one program.

This may seem a strange request, but does anyone know as to whether AIM can be downloaded and used indepently of AOL i.e if AOL is not your ISP, please.

MSN Instant Messenger x 2??

I wonder if someone can tell me why I have two of the above and both try to sign in when I log on? AkA

this thread will explain it to you

This seems to have been a problem ever since I downloaded MSN 6.

I'm running Win XP Pro and have all the latest updates.

new instant messenger

Does anyone have any recommendations?

I'm looking for a new instant messanger that support multiple instant messengers (like YIM, AIM and MSN). I am currently using trillian pro but really dislike it's like of features.
