How To Fix Firefox very slow. Is it the netbook or the browser??

TIP: You should click here to fix Windows errors and optimize system speed.

Firefox very slow. Is it the netbook or the browser?? is the name of the error that contains information about the error, including the reason why it occurred, which system component or application was malfunctioning that caused the error, and other information. The numerical code in the name of the error contains data that can be decoded by the manufacturer of the faulty component or application. An error using this code can occur in many different places in the system. Although the name contains some details, it is still difficult for the user to find and eliminate the cause of the error without specialized technical knowledge or the appropriate software.

From the Forums

A user in the forum details it further:

After reading other threads I decided it was warrented to post my own following the how to of other threads (such as using Speccy).   As for Firefox it says it is 23.0.1 (I have to do a restart after this and it will update).   I have the following addons installed and active (was trying to keep my mom safe while she was on this computer before she got her own):   Adblock Plus 2.4 (because she can never tell the difference between ads and things she is meant to click on)   NoScript   WOT 20130515   Toolbar Buttons 1.0 (to make more room so that she can have as much viewing space on this tiny 10" netbook)   E-Web Print 1.17.00 (because she loves to print recipes but doesn't want everything with it .. web Anti-virus link checker 3.2.3 What is your question? just the recipe).   BitDefender QuickScan   Dr.

What causes Firefox very slow. Is it the netbook or the browser??

If you received this error on your PC, it means that there is a malfunction in your system. Common causes are incorrect or unsuccessful installation or removal of software that could leave invalid entries in the Windows registry, the effects of a virus or malware attack, an incorrect system shutdown due to a power failure, or another factor in which a person with little technical knowledge accidentally deletes the required A system file or registry entry, as well as several other reasons. The immediate cause of "Firefox very slow. Is it the netbook or the browser??" is a failure when one of its normal operations is properly started by a system or application component.

Alter the entries as follows:

Set ?network.http.pipelining? to ?true?

Set ?network.http.proxy.pipelining? to ?true?

Set ?network.http.pipelining.maxrequests? to some number like 30.

just installed latest firefox browser. Scroll down and look for the following entries:

network.http.pipelining network.http.proxy.pipelining network.http.pipelining.maxrequests

Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time.

When you enable pipelining it will make several at once, which really speeds up page loading.

2. Name it ?nglayout.initialpaint.delay? and set its value to ?0?. If you?re using a broadband connection you?ll load pages MUCH faster now!

It?s only useful for broadband users, so if you?re still on dial-up you can just skip this one for now.

This means it will make 30 requests at once.

3. it is about 5 times slower than the flock browser i was using. This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it receives. Here?s something for broadband people that will really speed Firefox up:

1.Type ?about:config? into the address bar and hit return.

Lastly right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer.

Firefox Browser slow

But I was still getting a message that his firefox was running (when it was not). IE works, but it's very slow. Any help that can be provided would be appreciated. Disable System Restore, while you are trying to remove the problem, as you are keeping the infection in a Restore Point.

Once you have disabled System restore, Update your Malwarebytes program and re-scan -Now download SuperAntiSpyware free Update the program and Quick scan with this also - Please post both scan logs back in your next reply.Thank You -

Usually infections can embed themselves in restore points, so it can sometimes be best to disable system restore (which deletes restore points) and then re-enabling it after the infection is gone.
My son's computer's firefox and IE explorer browsers are running very slow. He got some sort of virus on his system.

I did a system restore back to a couple of days ago and then I ran Malwarebytes, which seemed to get rid of the virus. I brought up the task manager and rebooted the system, but that problem was still there.

Firefox Stalls And Slow Browser/computer.

After completing the necessary steps as requested the spyware was gone, however a new problem developed...I noticed that whenever I had firefox open my computer would stall for about 5-10 seconds every 30 seconds. Download Combofix and save to your desktop:Note: It is important that it is saved directly to your desktop Close any open browsers. Double click on Combofix.exe and follow the prompts.

When it's finished it will produce a log. Also the overall speed and performance of Internet Explorer was considerably low, I dont notice any pop ups or anything like that, so I dont think I have spyware - but again Im not sure. That may cause the program to freeze/hang. it would just completely freeze then resume normally again.

Browser's extremely slow (Edge + Firefox) when surfing the web

browsing the web is "extremely" slow, I tried edge and firefox and both have this issue. My ISP is not the problem because as I mentioned, my other local user is just fine. I ran ccleaner and scanned for malware.

Does anyone have any clues?

However, on my other local user account it works just fine. I have no clue what could be the issue.

Opening up either my IE or Firefox browser results in painfully slow web page loads..

I am only able to ask for your assistance on this web site while running my computer in safe mode. Copy the contents of that log and paste it into this thread. I still suspect remnants of spyware remain on my computer which has now caused my browsing online to become a near impossibility.

Click the Install button to extract the files and follow the prompts. Up until this past Friday everything was running smoothly, and then in the blink of an eye trying to browse web pages has become a frustrating act taking much longer than it should. When running other applications not involving going online, my computer runs completely fine.

Over the past week I've been in the process of reinstalling programs to my computer after having to reinstall WindowsXP.

Double click l2mfix.bat and select option #1 for Run Find Log by typing 1 and then pressing Enter. I suspect spyware is the cause because when I first began reinstalling programs I inadvertantly came across a web page that I know hit me with a load of spyware...all this happening before I reloaded my firewall and antivirus software. This will scan your computer and it may appear nothing is happening. Download L2MFix from one of these two locations:

Solved: Netbook running really slow/starting slow

I've thought about trying a registry cleaner, but I've seen conflicting reports about those. It also is freezing up frequently. I've run scans for Malwarebytes (found nothing), AVG (found and killed 2 corrupted files), run disk cleanup, and defragmented.

Any audio skips, making dialog sound like the speaker is stuttering. (Video is not even either.) Fortunately, no blue screens have appeared yet. Any suggestions about what could be wrong and how to fix it?

I have an Asus 1000HA netbook with XP, atom processor, and 2GB RAM that is running and starting up very slowly. Thank you!

I tried a system restore, but it would not complete and an error check would not complete ("Windows is unable to complete the error check").

Firefox browser issue. Really slow loading pages, and glitchy scrolling of pages

I also had all my tweaks set how I wanted it on about:config before, which was lost in reinstalling it, and would have started the process of rebuilding my browser, redoing the profiles and reinstalling the extensions but for the fact my browser remains slow. Again running firefox in normal mode it was still excruciatingly slow. .
I then decided that I would uninstall firefox and reinstall it, but that doesn't seem to have resolved the problem. I had also run CHDSK which showed no errors.

I have an Acer Aspire V3-772G which I bought some 18 months ago.
System details:
Processor: Intel® Core i7-4202MQ 2.2GHz with Turbo Boost up to 3.2GHz
Installed Memory (RAM) 16.00 GB DDR3 L Memory
System  type: 64-bit Operating, x64- based processor
A few days ago my firefox browser, which for no apparent reason at all, just seemed to slow to a stupendously very slow loading of pages. I had recently just been working on an issue in which I posted a thread regarding whether there was a possible virus/malware after google chrome terminated with the following message from Hitman Pro Alert:
Attack Intercepted
'Google Chrome 49' has been terminated to prevent execution of malicious code. I don't appear to suffer any overheating to my laptop and keep it relatively clean from dust as possible. My firefox did have quite a few extensions, but they were not all bundled under the same profile.

netbook really slow

On average it takes around 45 seconds to open a document and another 45 seconds to print or save. Opening applications in microsoft (starter) is also EXTREMELY SLOW.

my hp mini 110 netbook is unusually slow, especially the internet and/or opening applications such as microsoft office. My computer is Windows 7 Starter.

There also seems to be a lag when I type. Any suggestions?

The HP Mini 110 series netbook has over 100 models, so we need to determine the exact model you have. How many entries in the "Startup Item" column have a checkmark next to them?

Look at the sticker and advise us what the product number(P/N) and/or model number(M/N) on it is.

How much RAM does it have?

Go to Start - Run - MSCONFIG - OK - "Startup" tab. When I open new webpages it freezes for about a minute and I'm unable to scroll down. The letters are slow to appear. Same thing happens when I try to open new mail.

I've tried connecting to different wifi networks in different locations but even when I have excellent signal strength everything runs extremely slow.

slow netbook

I have kept it on for quite a while to upload updates as I thought that this might have been slowing things but even when everything is up to date the problem persists. How much RAM is installed?
I have an Acer netbook with windows 7 starter. I have hardly anything on it as I use it mainly when I am away from home to look and emails and  browse the web.

A friend of mine had a look at it and says that it is running on 95%RAM and that this is the reason. What model is it? It has become almost unusable as it is incredibly slow. What can be done about it.

My daughter found out that Chrome had locked up on her Netbook, causing a large memory leak to that process.

FireFox - mouse & browser& browser freezes in Facebook page

Might be a bug in FF 17. The mouse is freezing in facebook & I find the only escape to release the browser is reboot.

I have FF 17.

Was it there in FF 16?

I have no idea why this is happening. Try CTRL+Alt+DELETE or ALT+F4 to turn the Browser off ... The same FB page works fine in internet explorer.

My wife owns an Acer Netbook and when we first got it, we were content with it's speed. Time has gone on and it has gotten so slow my wife doesn't want to use it anymore. Please let me know what information you need from me and what I can do (if anything) to get this machine back running correctly.

I have done a virus scan and also removed some startup items as well as junk programs she has accumulated.
