From the Forums

A user in the forum details it further:

The projector is panasonic. This was there when we moved in. We bought a HDMI cable as well as a Yamaha Home theatre system. The previous owner did not leave instructions at all.

I have no idea if this is the right place but we have a theatre screen with a projector and everything. We tried to connect it but it wont show on the screen. Any possible suggestion   We had a technician and he said that the brands does not matter.

home theatre pc

I am using a Dell laptop with HDMI output as the "front end"

And if so, how can I set this up? I am using an HP with quad processor, 4 gigs ram, large disk and TV tuner as the "back end". I've googled, searched the microsoft site, visited book stores but have not found any reference for setting up the "front end back end" HTPC.

I was reading an article on home theatre pc setups and am trying to follow the suggestions given. The full article I read may be accessed at:

Ars Ultimate Home Theater PC Guide: 1080p HDMI Edition: Page 2

I would appreciate any guidance on setting up Windows Vista Home Premium as a home server. The section on software implies that any windows OS can be used as a home server OS - "For the back-end, regular versions of Windows or the new Windows Home Server (WHS) are easy enough to use" Is this true?

I will add additonal hard disk space once and if the concept is proven in my home.

Home Theatre

I think Windows 8 will be great for people like me with Home Theatre setups, with the big tiles everything is a lot easier to see. I hope MS puts a lot of effort into MCE as I can see them becoming the Apple of Media consumption. I'm looking forward to all kinds of Apps to make the Home Theatre experience even better.

Once the online store starts selling Music and Movies etc, I can see people buying Windows 8 just to have an excellent Home Theatre system.

Connecting home theatre to pc

The Digital Coax Out on the Texoni is to output a digital signal to another compatible unit. A Google search does not provide much info on this home theater unit. I?m sure you don?t want to hear this but to get Surround Sound from your PC to your stereo you will need to purchase a Home Theater Receiver that offers 5.1 input connections.

Besides, it would not offer surround sound if used with your Texoni.

It cannot be used as a input so you are out of luck here

Your Creative SB0220 is an older PCI connection which your motherboard does not support. So even if you could find Win 7 drivers this would not work.

For a while Im trying to find a solution to put together my home cinema and my pc.Simple reason is to get 5.1 sound from my computer.I have Asrock motherboard HM61-DGS with integrated sound card. Also have an old Creative SB0220 but I hear there is no way for Win 7 to work with it.My Home Theatre is some strange Texoni mark. For now Im getting a sound but no surround.I put together via rca jack. As,I hope it will be seen in a picture, HT has some coax out.And if somebody know which cabl to use to connect together.

Hard to tell from your picture but I think you may only be able to connect 2 channel stereo to the Texoni .

Dolby home theatre

I think they put some additional code in to interface with the Dolby.

On my laptop I have found that I have to use the Realtek drivers supplied by the manufacturer or else DHT breaks.

Since upgrading to Win 8.1 (from 7) I cannot get Dolby Home Theatre to load
The sound card is part of the Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R Revision 2 motherboard -
Realtek ALC889 codec
 High Definition Audio
 2/4/5.1/7.1-channel
 Support for Dolby? Home Theater

I have tried loading the Realtek High Definition Audio driver 3.77 R2.72 which seems to install OK but when I then try installing the Dolby home theatre 4 GUI package it fails with a message saying PCEE needs to be installed.

My Home Theatre Setup

This system will have only one purpose, and that's running my home theatre) but the GT 730 gets higher benchmarks anyway, without Dual-Graphics or boosting of any kind. D
o you plan to use a high quality video renderer like madVR?

So, i'm needing to buy a low-end entry level video card. http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=146228
Do you send the computer's output to an AVR via HDMI?

I'm not looking to game, but I still need something pretty balanced between power and profile (And/or power consumption.)
Thing is, the only reason I would have to use an R7 240 is if I have an AMD A8 or A10 APU (Which I do, in this case, I have an A10.) and want the extra performance with a Dual-Graphics option, which seem to show decent FPS increase (Looking at benchmarks, here. At a minimum I would get an NVidia GTX750Ti or Radeon R7 265.

Should I get an R7 240, or a GT 730?

Will you be using a media center like Kodi or JRiver Media Center? Will you be viewing any 4K material? So, I'm torn on this, and I'm asking you to make the decision for me.

home theatre connections

my son has bought a mikomi home theatre speaker package from argos, it requires 3 audio outputs ,his dvd oly has 1 audio output is there a simple and cheap solution to this problem

By "his dvd", do you mean a DVD player? volume). The audio output will also be stereo only and cannot begin to do justice to a surround sound home theatre speaker package. The simple (but certainly not cheap) solution is to purchase a home theatre system, not just the speakers. Many TVs have a pair of stereo audio out sockets which you could link to a pair of the home theatre speakers, but they would simply add to the existing TV speakers (i.e. If I have, and if you can give more details about the DVD (make and model), we may be able to assist.

it wouldn't be surround sound) although they may sound rather better. Can I apologise in advance if I've simply mis-read your query. If so, I'm afraid the output level is far too low to drive speaker(s) without extra amplification and control (e.g.

Dolby Home Theatre 4

I just noticed on my w540 that the Dolby Home Theatre v4 doesnt do anything?  Changing the settings does nothing to the sound when playing music.  Should it not do something? Removed and reinstalled the drivers, and nothing.   Using Windows 8.1 I can see within the sound settings that dolby digital plus seems to be installed, and I can toggle it on and off, leading to a change in sound quality.   However, home theatre does nothing.  Any thoughts anyone? I have a W530, and Win7 Pro x64, and the Dolby Home Theater software is provided through Lenovo's Realtek sound driver package. It is not included in Realtek's standard retail driver package so you can't use a Realtek-provided driver to do a "driver install/upgrade".

External HD to home theatre system

I am able to browse my folders but my movie folder shows as empty. Please use the Internal Flash Memory or USB flash memory/external
HDD formatted in either FAT16 or FAT32 when using BD-Live.
• The USB device can be used for the local storage for enjoying BD-Live

The home theatre system offers ipod/iphone, youtube and usb External HD connectivity. My movies are .m4v format, which my HTS is supposed to support.

get the HP usb format tool to to do the format operation.(google to find it)

If you use a USB extension cable or USB HUB, the USB device may not
be recognized
File extensions: “.jpg”, “.jpeg”, “.png”, “.avi”, “.divx”, “.mpg”, “.mpeg”,
“.mkv”, “.mp4”, “.mp3”, “.wma”, “.pcm” (LPCM)
you could try changing the extension to mp4 on a file to see if it will run ,as m4v is same file format

This player supports USB flash memory/external HDD formatted in
FAT16, FAT32 and NTFS when accessing files (music, photo, movie). My external HD is formatted in MS-DOS and i have a new LG blu-ray home theatre system. However, for BD-Live, only FAT16 and FAT32 formats are supported.

Any assistance with this problem would be much appreciated.
