How To Fix KEY BOARD MALFUNCTION Windows 7 HP DV4 Laptop
Seeing an error when you work on your computer is not an instant cause of panic. It is not unusual for a computer to encounter problems but it is also not a reason to let it be and not to investigate on the errors. Windows errors are issues that can be fixed through solutions depending on what may have caused them in the first place. Some may only need a quick fix of re-installation of the system while others may require in-depth technical assistance. It is crucial to react to the signals on your screen and investigate the problem before trying to fix it.
Working on a laptop computer gives you flexibility and portability. Since it is prone to frequent transfer, manufacturers make sure that their systems can withstand almost every risk including spills, transport and jostling. However, laptops are still prone to wear and tear both inside and outside. Laptop errors may include hard drive failure, system crash, not enough memory and virus infestation.
Apart from the time delays on your computer work and the lost productivity, there is also the issue of expenses to fix the errors, not to mention the calls to tech support. For fatal laptop errors, some cases may require you ship your laptop back to the manufacturer for repairs.
Windows 7 is the operating system released by Microsoft, following the Windows Vista. However, despite its later technology, there are still errors encountered in Windows 7. Sometimes, problems occur even during an installation or an upgrade. A common example is when you upgrade your Windows Vista to Windows 7 and after more than 50%, it will fail or hang. Other Windows 7 errors are caused when you incorrectly install or uninstall a program. When there are errors in your Window 7, a pop up error message will appear once you start your computer. Windows 7 error that are not fixed will make it annoying to perform other task including hardware functions.

What causes KEY BOARD MALFUNCTION Windows 7 HP DV4 Laptop
Whenever you see windows error on your screen, the easiest and safest way to fix it is to reboot your computer. Just like our bodies needing a shut eye for several minutes, our computers also need to shut down once in awhile. A quick reboot can refresh your programs and gives your computer a clean slate to start a new venture. More often than not, it also eliminates the errors you have encountered after rebooting. It is also ideal to shut down your computer once a week to completely put all unused programs to rest. However, when a reboot does not work anymore, use more advanced Windows solutions to fix your errors.
While laptop computers may be prone to errors, there are also quick fixes to most of these ailments. If your laptop experience slow hard drive processes like a sluggish file transfer or program load times, your solution is disk defragmentation. Upgrade your RAM if your computer needs more memory and has a slow performance when using several applications. If there is excessive pop-ups, your computer may be infected with a virus.
Run a free virus scan or install an anti-spyware program. When your hard drive failed and create a loud clicking sounds during data access from the hard drive, replace your hard drive or use an online backup site.
One of the first step to fix Windows 7 errors is to check all your drivers in the Device Manager and make sure that these drivers are updated. You can also run the Program Compatibility Wizard. It is a built-in troubleshooter that will help users fix errors in Windows 7. Check the Wizard under the Start menu. For legacy software, you can check the Compatibility tab of the program to edit the settings.

Can windows updates cause my laptop to malfunction?
i can not get my task manager to open. but when i actually open the menu to connect to a network it says i'm connected. i've done a full system scan and found two viruses which were contained and deleted. on the taskbar at the bottom of my screen there IS an x across the online icon.
but could it be downloading updates that are causing glitches in my system? also it's been freezing when it goes to open my programs. i've been having to manually shut it down with the power button. it says that my laptop is secure.
i've tried to open it up by the last known good configuration. i'm running windows vista and i have an hp pavillion dv6000 and it's about three years old. sometimes it will boot up right, other times it won't. but i'm working on it!
i read that it could be because i have a program that is looping and not shutting down correctly. the problems:
my computer won't shut down. and of course when i reboot it'll ask me how i won't to proceed because windows failed to shut down correctly.
I hope my title was okay!
my computer recognizes the internet connection and even connects, but when i open a broswer it doesn't go online. it will go to the logging off blue screen and sometimes it will even go as far as the shutting down screen, but never any further than that. i'm trying to avoid doing a full system restore because i have missplaced my writing software cd...

Windows 10 laptop key board issues
Have deleted drivers and reinstalled with no effect. have tried recovering to earlier date with no affect.
Some key board buttons just stopped working. Help please
Solved: Toshiba Laptop has an on board keyboard that comes up when windows starts!
I have tried everything, but it still keeps coming up when the laptop starts. Any ideas how to stop this.
I have a Toshiba Satellite laptop running windows Vista. Every time windows starts it comes up with this onboard keyboard o the screen.
Subsequently, when she attempts to turn on the computer, the fan/power light come on (sounds as though it's booting regularly) but the screen remains black and there is an error beep sequence of 4 (short) beeps, 4 times over, and then stops (though the power light/fan remain on) like:
4-4-4-4, 4-4-4-4, 4-4-4-4, 4-4-4-4
This was perplexing to me, as it's no error code I've ever heard of. She also believes that she may have bumped it while attempting to clean the spill. I think she's very likely right about the soda, since it's very corrosive.
I think at a minimum you need to have it partially disassembled to determine how much of that "very small amount" got into something critical. A few minutes after, the laptop BSOD'd, giving her a 'HARDWARE MALFUNCTION' error and ***SYSTEM HALTED***. She believes that the error was caused by the liquid, but it was a very small amount, and was cleaned immediately.
A good friend of mine was using her laptop (IBM Thinkpad A31 running WinXP) and spilled a very small amount of liquid (soda) on the Pause/Break-Scroll Lock/Print key block.
Any help on this would be appreciated.
Well, soda is one of the worst things to pour in your laptop!

Hard drive malfunction? USB port malfunction? Or just normal?
I checked if there is any vibration or movement that could break the connection, but so far there is no evidence that anything is moving.
I recently purchased an HP ProBook 450 G3. In normal use there is no problem. Then I will hear the "chime" that Windows makes when a USB device connects or disconnects.
I am using two passport compact 1 TB drives with my laptop's two USB 3.0 ports. Any ideas how to debug this? The disconnection always happens when a lot of data is being transferred, while the drives are sitting completely still. It seems that it spontaneously disconnects and then reconnects.
Then the autoplay window for the Passport drive will appear. Have you tried to reproduce the problem on other machines, or with different drives on your machine?
I can continue using it for a time afterward, but it always spontaneously disconnects at some point, always when I am doing large data transfers. I'd be inclined to suspect the drives first, especially if they are from the same family and were produced around the same time (the "bad batch" phenomenon).
I know this because first I will get a copying error saying either the source or the destination is missing. However, when I copy a lot of data from one to the other (or from one to the laptop's internal drive) the drives keep disconnecting. This is a hard situation to diagnose from a distance IMO. "Loose" is somewhat subjective, and barring serious abuse the only ki...
Laptop Power malfunction
Sorry if there are any other posts out there related to this one, however none of them gave information- was a diferent problem then what i am stating. Read it carefully and follow all proper procedures! If problem is unresolveable, and I chose to just sell it, any way I can erase the memory(but not erase windows XP installed on it but somewhat just restore) so that any personal information left will not be shown to my possible next buyer.
Im short on the cash, so I was wondering if there is some hack, mod or ANYTHING to get my computer up and running. I am not sure how technical you are but this link may help you:
It gives you a diagnostic flow chart to try and resolve issues, plus it gives you a step by step guide to replace the motherboard. Thank you! you will need one of these though:
Hope this helps.
As far as wiping out the old data on the drive if you wish to sell this, you could always remove the drive and hook it up to a working PC (as a Slave) and retrieve the data. Well my laptop(Compaq Presario V5000) has a power malfunction located INSIDE the computer(lights do not even turn on, YES I have tryied taking out the battery and only using powercord, and yes I have also done it vise versa, IM possitive it is inside computer, because it was tried by a computer repair servicer recently.), and will cost me about 300$ to fix.
Laptop malfunction/ need assistance please
Are you just trying to install windows on the machine now and that is it?
Did the installation complete or did it error out? So now at this point the C drive is corrupt and I can't install windows it's giving me an error.
The cdrom drive is broken/does not work and so I tried installing windows from the harddrive but that was a failure. What am I to do? What error are you getting?

Mouse pad on laptop malfunction!
Recently my mousepad has had a mind of it's own, erractically moving where it wanted, rather than where I was wanting it to move to. Also may try lowering the sensitivity of the touch pad...
What you may have to do is reinstall the touch pad drivers (sometimes it works), otherwise it may be a bad touch pad... This time I was unable to shut down legally even, so just powered down through the power button.
Any advice? Thinking there was something on the pad itself I cleaned it, no difference. Ta in advance,
Howdy whatkathryndid... Then it decided it wanted to just move vertically, but it would stop when I lifted my finger from the pad.
So I just shut the computer down (legally), and booted it up a few hours later, and it seemed to have sorted itself out, but then followed the same pattern. What is the make and model of the laptop? Then it decided it wanted to move even without my finger being on the pad.
I'm currently using a USB mouse to allow me to get work done, with the mouse pad itself switched off through the mouse power down facility.
Laptop display malfunction
Hinge malfunction on laptop
Any suggestions?? Not much force is needed but you can certainly hear and feel a bit of grinding when you work it. This has caused the two screws that connect the hinge with the top to strip the holes, fall out, and now the whole works is just sloppy.
I pried it further to take a look and saw that the post/hinge itself stays in the closed or near-closed position while the connecting piece rises with the lid of the laptop. It will not close all the way without forcing, which of course then means i have to force it open again. SARgal
Don't think you will get much advice on that one. I doubt you can find a replacement hinge.
It's forced the case open at that corner. The left hinge on my Dell Laptop seems to be sticking in the closed position. You will probably have to deal with it or take it in for repair(if it can be).

Laptop keyboard malfunction! Help!
That's the problem with laptops, some keys do double and triple duty because of being so compact.
You know how you hold down the "down" key and it scrolls down on a page? mine just suddenly quit doing that.. something like that..
this is the 1st time it happened.. i held down "down" key and it only scrolls like 1cm (you know what i mean).. and as i was typing, it would miss out letters if i were to type"qwertyuiop" normally, it would type "qwtyp"..
why did that happen and how can i prevent it? did a restart and problem was gone.. To verify issue you can contact HP and see what they say and make sure everything is as it should be.
or is it time to do a refund / return/ exchange?
Malfunction while i was trying to reset my laptop
Now it goes to blue page that says " installing Windows 64% don't turn off your pc this will take a while your pc will restart seven times," for a few seconds before restarting but I stopped counting the number of times it's restarted after fifteen and it still keeps restarting.
I need help, my laptop caught a nasty virus that prevented me from resetting my laptop. My laptop was able to rewind to before the virus but I reset it anyway to be safe.
