How To Fix malwarebytes error cocreateinstance class not registered, no exe running, cant run OTL

TIP: You should click here to fix Windows errors and optimize system speed.

A mistake or inaccuracy, an error is caused about by committing miscalculations on the things that you do. It is a state of having a wrong judgement or conception in your conduct that allows catastrophic things to happen. In machines, error is a way to measure the difference between the observed value or the computed value of an event against its real value.

It is a deviation from correctness and accuracy. When errors occur, machines crash, computers freeze and softwares stop working. Errors are mostly unintentional events to happen. Most of the time, errors are a result of poor management and preparation.

EXE errors occur for a number of reasons but mostly due to problems with the executable files or the EXE files. EXE is the extension of an application in Windows. Similar to the other types of files integral to your computer system, EXE files can run into errors every now and then. Some errors are common but some are hard to troubleshoot and fix.

The softwares you use and the applications required to run by the operating system use EXE files to accomplish their tasks. On that note, a PC contains a lot of EXE files, thousands maybe, that allows a high probability that an error might occur. Sometimes, EXE errors can make an impact in your computer system. Programs may stop working, or your PC can slow down. Worst case is, an EXE error can prevent you from accessing and logging into your computer.

Some issues that can cause EXE errors:

  • Viruses, malware, and spyware
  • Invalid, broken, corrupted or out-of-date files or drivers
  • Conflicting entries in the Windows system registry
  • Application Conflicts

"Class not registered" Error when running Windows Explorer

Class Not Registered error how to fix

i can not restart my computer an error comes up, Class Not Registered error, what dose this mean

That's likely a missing or improperly installed COM component. If that fixes it reactivate the software components one by one to see what's causing it and then reinstall that software. I'd disable all software launched as part of the boot process and see if the error persists.

If you can't fix it that way, your fastest option would likely be to reset or clean install windows.
The error is most often the result of an installer screwing up or a registry cleaner removing entries it shouldn't have.

mmc.exe class not registered error

Any ideas on how to fix or re-register? Next see this:
How to use the System File Checker tool to troubleshoot missing or corrupted system files on Windows Vista or on Windows 7

Haven't had this error since Win 2000, but after installing a clean copy of Windows 7 on my workstation, and a number of programs, when I try to run mmc from the run prompt I get a Class Not Registered Error, which is causing havoc on all my software installations.

IE error: Class not registered

It says, "Problems with this Web page might prevent it from being displayed properly or functioning properly." It lists the Line, Char, Error, and Code, and URL. Any ideas? (By the way, I just tried to run the spell check offered before posting this message, and I got the same error). The vendor that Cox used in delivering internet service (Excite) went bankrupt. I can get to any web page directly, but if I click on anything to take me to another page on a website, many times I end up with an IE warning window appearing.

I have a Compaq Presario Pentium III, using Windows Me. The download/conversion seemed to go smoothly, but I am now having problems when surfing the internet and also with hyperlinks. I've also noticed that if I click on a hyperlink in my e-mail, nothing happens.

We're hooked up using cable internet through Cox Cable. I've tried contacting Cox, but their phone lines are constantly busy, and I can't send them an e-mail, because when I go to their support page, and click on "to send an E-mail", I get the same error message that I'm writing to you about. I suspect that the problem arose due to the conversion, and I don't know if I can do anything to correct it, or if it is a problem inherent in Cox's new service that they need to correct. Cox developed their own service and sent conversion instructions along with a CD.

After Error, it always says, "Class not registered". ...

OLE error code 0x80040154. Class is not registered.

Suggest you download the free Revo Uninstaller

Revo

Uninstall the dictionary program with that. Class is not registered). Just in general terms, you are getting that error because something (either a DLL or an OCX) has not been entered into the Windows Registry and so it can't be located.

You can try and find it and register it manually, but the easiest thing you could do is uninstall and reinstall the dictionary program. Welcome to Seven Forums maanishahzad. Please give me solution......! A Guy

i m using Win7 Ultimate 32-Bit, i installed Cleantouch Dictionary V.5 but when i try to run that error show (OLE error code 0x80040154. Then try a fresh install.

Catalog Error - 80040154 - Class not registered

I was just running windows updates for Office 2010 and when the computer rebooted I got an error about a COM class factory (see attached). Well, after much messing about, I did a system restore to a time prior to recent windows updates and everything is running smoothly again. All Windows updates have been applied.

FixIt for Windows Updates did not find any issues. So I tried to open Component Services and I got a Catalog Error when browsing into COM+ Applications. MSE says I have no viruses, as does MalwareBytes.

I hope this is the right place to post this.

How might I fix these issues?

(Toshiba Ultrabook - Windows 7 Pro)

PSSFC /SCANNOW did not find any errors. Next step will be to perform the updates yet again and see what happens.

Class not registered (0x80040154) error on backup

I've just gone in to ask it to save and it can see the HP harddrive but when I choose to save it comes up with the 'Class Not Registered (0x80040154)" error and doesn't back up. click here='Class+Not+Registered+(0x80040154)%22+error&rlz=1I7GGLD_en-GB&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&sourceid=ie7&redir_esc=&ei=XxOzTK7jAsvLswbV2NmvDQ

I've added a new HP Simplesave harddrive to backup my PC (running on Vista).

Our Freeagent drive previously backed up automatically but this one doesn't.
