A user in the forum details it further:

The Drivers are up to date for the V card. The only to know for sure is to swap in another monitor and see if it does the same thing. -- Andy   Good Day I have a View Sonic G90f 19in monitor and is about 8 or 9 yeasrs old. I will open the cover and jiggle the V card but not sure if this would do anything.

I checked all the connections and everythings seems OK but still problem exist. Has anyone experienced anything like this? Lately I have been having problems with the monitor turning Off and then back On some times once in a while and sometime continuously.really no pattern to when it flicks on and off. Settings are at 1280 x 1024 75 HTz 32 bit color.

I have a Nvidia 8800GTS that is about 2 years old.

Monitor Flicking off

Why does my monitor keep going to black (for about a second) when I am on the Internet? If you have the time [hour or two!], the answer might be click here (;o)
The problem never occurs when I am playing games, etc. This gradualy gets more frequent the longer I am surfing.I have an LG1710B using DVI: my graphics card is a Powercolor 9600 pro and my processor is an Athlon 2.8.

Monitor is flicking itself on and off like crazy!

when checking if there's anything in the CD drive) all the characters were jumbled and scattered. Just to be sure I tried putting my computer through system recovery with the disk that was provided with the computer, and surprisingly it did take me to Windows...the part where it starts checking for hardware drivers and goes through all the stuff that it does when you recover the system...however when it said it had to test the keyboard and mouse, and the screen may flicker for a few seconds my monitor started off with its very own issue. Cheers!

I had to manually restart the computer, but when the startup screen came up it had a really strange graphics issue where there were sketchy lines running through the screen, and when the DOS-looking screen came up (i.e.

When I restart the computer the same jagged lines and jumbled characters appear, so it seems the system recovery didn't really do much. If someone could help me out here and tell me what's going on and how I could fix it, it'd be much appreciated. I attempted Safe Mode and the same thing occurred, so I'm guessing it is a hardware issue? What's worse, Windows didn't even start up...the screen just stayed blank after the Windows load screen.

Just so you guys have some background... In fact I know it's not the monitor that's the problem because I switched my tower with my brother's tower to see what would happen (using the same monitor), a...

Flicking LG 795FT monitor

Not constantly, but annoying. Any ideas as to what I check next? The sides of the display sometimes has jagged edges.

My LG monitor has recently started flickering. The LG monitor is just about 3 years old and almost out of warranty, just my luck. It may help.
Try the degauss option under the OSD settings from the front of the monitor.

I carefull blew out the dust from within the PC, removed and reseated the Nvidia video card, downloaded and installed the latest XP drivers, pressed degauss and still have a flickering screen. I thought it was possibly due to a bad connecting or localised over heating.

monitor flicking top & bottom

Three years is not very old...:-)Have you first tried reinstalling/updating your graphics card drivers?Secondly, if you right click on the Desktop>Properties>Settings button>Advanced>Adapter tab and click on List All Modes, all colour/resolution/refresh rates that your card supports are listed. For a 17in monitor try 32bit True Colour/1024x768/85MHz refresh and for a 19in a higher resolution with the same colour and refresh rates (if supported).
Monitor is a Mitsubishi Diamond Pro 930SB about 3yrs old. I think it's probably the monitor showing the first signs of giving up. It is no more than an inch, but it flicks almost continually.

If it isn't and somebody has had the same problem, I would be glad to hear from them.
Monitor display is contracting from top & bottom.

Monitor flicking between analog and hdmi

Using different ports for my graphics card in the board. Using a different graphics card. I even got desperate and changed my system back to what I used a few days ago and my monitor still plays up.

However, when I start up my new system my monitor only displays picture for a couple of minutes before it goes blank and flicks between HDMI and Analog not displaying any picture. Does anyone have any advice on how to get my picture back?

Removing and cleaning graphics card and RAM. What I have tried:

Using a different brand monitor with a different socket into my graphics card.

I removed my old hard drives and put the new ones in with the intention of installing the operating system.

Sony Monitor flicking on/off everytime pc is accessed

Sony LCD is about 3 years old. If problem still exists then you video card is toast

As long as I keep the screen active it does not seem to happen.

Each time I get on the computer the screen begins flicking quickly, eventually slows and finally stops. Any suggestions?

Replace with knowngood monitor. And every so often the screen goes green for a second or two (sometimes blue) and then comes back on when I click the mouse.

I JUST BOUGHT HP Spectre x360 - 15-bl000na last week. IT FLICKERS.

WoW Flicking to Windows

This morning I tried to start WOW and it started up fine and I saw the log on screen and then it flicked back to my desktop - every time I tried to alt tab or switch to WoW, it would immediately flick back to windows. But then you have to figure out what program is doing it.

Try running the game in windowed mode and it should stop.

Have you ever seen this and any ideas how I can fix the problem?

something is stealing focus from wow and causing it to monimize.

screen flicking..

now it does that whenever i click on the nvidia icon in the task bar or go to the nvidia control panel. should i be worried? when it was in 800x600 it would flick or kind of scramble for a second.

No, you should however begin with reading manuals and install proper drivers. I originally had a radeon 9000, i switched to an nvidia geforce4 and ever since i turned the computer on of course it was in 800x600 pxls then after the installation i switched it back to the 1024x768.

why does it keep flicking to a different page?

If you mean Internet Explorer you could always try the Reset:IE > Tools > Internet Options > Advanced tab > Reset button.Your favorites will remain but you will lose addons and any of your own customizing. Ok I have a windows 7 hp pavilion g6 and it keeps flicking inbetween history (things I went on recently) when im trying to do something its so annoying!!!!! please help!!!!!!!

Flicking screen

Have looked in other posts but nothing to help.My friend had a lighting strike and a lot of equipent was damaged . Could something be loose or is it really on it's way out. Every thing is fine other than it flickers.

His computer was damaged but he was able to get desktop fixed okay but his screen flickers. It is not a flat screen. Most probably the monitor is damaged, in fact I am surprised it works at all. Was told screen was damaged as well.

Now is the time for your friend to get an up-to-date monitor, they are not so expensive nowadays, and probably cheaper than trying to get damaged monitor repaired.

Flicking Problem

According to them i have driver problem .When i remove or disable my VGA driver flickering stop and when its reinstalled or enabled flickering is back.

MapleStory Image Flicking

She recently updated her internet, but it still runs terribly slow. MapleStory doesn't close or anything, but I can't exit it. Installing it takes time, but it ends up installing everything perfectly fine (including the finishing bits when you run the game). It runs fine and I can log in and select a server and channel, but the moment it goes to the 'character selection' screen, the whole game starts flicking around and it makes it impossible to click 'back'.

Just want to know what's going on and if anyone knows how, how to fix the problem.
Help please... If I select a server with no characters, the images stay fine, but if I go to create a character, the images begin to flick again. (Oblviously has something to do with the characters...but what)? I can, but only by the task manager.

I'm at my mum's house and I've decided to try out MapleStory on her old laggy computer.

(I'm kinda dumb with computers, so anything you need to know about this one, ask me and I'll put it up...don't wanna put everything up and make myself look even stupider).

When I download MapleStory (client on the nexon website), everything downloads perfectly fine and within 2 hours, it'll be finished.

Dear All
I had to format and re-install Windowd Vista on my notebook LG R400 model but after formatting my screen keep flicking while booting and shutting down the windows.

my screen size keeps flicking

its so frustrating. it happens when im listening to the radio on the laptop or watching a dvd or even when im on the other side of the room so its nothing im pressing or doing it just does it randomly and i really want it fixed. sometimes it can be like 15 mins between size changes, but sometimes it like happens about 10 times within 30 seconds. my tabs on google crome also get smaller, for example, the twitter tab when the screen is big will say twitter/home with a little gap after and when it is small only twitter/ho will fit.

thank you!

the optimal resolution is 800 x 600. the screen will go back then swap size. i checked the screen resolution but when i change that the font just gets bigger, and thats not the problem.i get a message each time it changes saying...

"optimal resolution notification.

on facebook the bar saying who is online to chat goes when its on the small screen because theres no room. this is not the optimal screen resolution for the clone dispaly configuration. however, if i'm typing it will carry on during the balck screen that's on for like half a second, but the cursor will go back to being in the middle.

it keeps flicking from filling the whole screen to having a black bar about 1 or 2 inches wide on either side and everything on the screen then fills only that area, not even the cursor can go in the black sides. its a new laptop for uni and its impossible to focus on work when the screen keeps doin...
