How To Fix Multiple network drivers causing conflict issues?

TIP: You should click here to fix Windows errors and optimize system speed.

Driver update errors are one of the most frustrating issues to face when upgrading to Windows 10. For one, an incompatible driver can cause malfunction to your printer or render your display screen invisible. For these reasons, Microsoft is upfront in warning users about it before doing the upgrade mostly through the error code 0x800F0923.

Microsoft also released the Get Windows 10 app to help users troubleshoot when the issue arises. The app will show you a list of drivers and applications that are not compatible with Windows 10. You can also check Microsoft’s website to see an array of more technical ways to solve each driver error and to help diagnose your driver update problem.

Trying to connect to a network source may sound easy but it can’t help to encounter a problem once in awhile. Your network connection may not be properly configured or there is technical failure. Other times, there is no connectivity on your end. These errors are common examples of network error. It appears when there is something wrong during connection hence it cannot reach its end source. Still, these errors indicate the nature of the issue to help you resolve it.

List of the common network errors:

  • A Network Cable Is Unplugged
  • IP Address Conflict Address Already in Use
  • The Network Path Cannot Be Found
  • Duplicate Name Exists on the Network
  • Limited or No Connectivity
  • Connected with Limited Access
  • "Unable to Join Network Failure" error -3
  • "Unable to Establish the VPN Connection" error 800

A user in the forum details it further:

What I'd like to know is why it's doing this, and if there's a way to remove one or the other of the drivers from my computer. Then I click configure, drivers, update drivers, and I have to manually install one of the 2 drivers listed. Can someone PLEASE help me out, it's really becoming annoying. Lately what's been happening is when I turn on the computer the internet won't work.

I'm using the built-in ethernet plug wired into my router. Thank you.   One is from Mirosoft, and the other from nvidia. They are both named NVIDIA nForce Networking Controller.

I have to right click the network icon in the system tray, click network and sharing center, click manage network connections, right click the one device listed (NVIDIA nForce 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet) and click properties. I have the ASUS M2N-E SLI mobo. Either one works, I could install the microsoft one or the nvidia one and they'll both make the internet work, but as soon as I restart my computer it does the same thing again. My idea is that it doesn't know which driver to use when the computer turns on so it doesn't use either one.

If I can remove the microsoft one, I think it'd use the nvidia one.

What causes Multiple network drivers causing conflict issues?

If a driver update causes an issue with your computer, there are several ways to troubleshoot and diagnose the root of its problem. Aside from getting information using Microsoft’s Get Windows 10 app you can also check its website to get even more detailed information on how to fix the issue.

As with the other Windows errors, there is no one-size-fits-all solution to driver update errors. But, here are some common ways to get it fixed quickly.

  1. Roll back to the previous version of the driver and try to update it again.
  2. Be sure to check if your device has enough storage space to accommodate the update.
  3. Check other drivers if they also need updating.
  4. Try to remove extra devices, dock, drivers and other hardware attached to your computer.
  5. Disable any third party security softwares.
  6. Repair any hard drive errors before updating your drivers.
  7. Restart your computer and try updating your driver again.

Seeing a network error while you are in time constraints can be annoying but there are still solutions to these errors. Once an error message appears, you can click on the Diagnose option using the Windows wizard to run a diagnosis of the problem. After several minutes, Windows will show you the cause of the problem while also providing the right solutions. However, there are times when Windows may not give you all the answers so you need to fix it manually. First, you need to change your adapter settings. Look for the settings in the Network and Sharing center. Second, reset the TCP/IP. If changing the adapter setting, you can change the TCP/IP. Third is to uninstall network adapters so you can scan and apply any changes in the hardware.

Connected to Multiple Networks - causing network issues?

still have the IP address so Network 1 cannot renew. Lately when students unplug/replug their ethernet connection, a few strange things are happening.

1) An additional network is added to the list of "Multiple Networks" that I am now connected to, all with the same IP, etc... I work in a University and we use DHCP w/ MAC filtering for resident hall students. I am curious as to whether these "Multiple Networks" are causing problems with the lease, for example, when Network 1 expires, Network 2, 3, etc.

This is very frustrating. We've tried disabling ipv6, teefer2 (which messed up Symantec Firewall from doing its job so it had to be reenabled), and I've replicated the problem many times and have captured the network activity during the process, but I still have no real solution as to how to prevent this problem. This is my first post. Maybe I'm wrong though.

We have never had this issue when XP was the "OS du jour". Please be kind if I have not phrased my question(s) in the proper format. I can merge them all and eventually no more pop up.

2) They get dropped from our DHCP pool, losing their 129 IP and reverting back to a 10 IP as if they never applied for the resident hall internet service (once they apply, Symantec firewall is installed to make sure windows updates are on, and that SAV is updated, and of course to monitor any suspicious bandwidth activity) Then, we have to reapply them to get them back to a 129 ...

Double network type causing conflict

Can't you just switch it off when you are going to connect to a wired network?

And I have no idea how to solve that issue... At work my network (first time) was set to "WORK", and at home to "HOME"... If there is subject regarding this subject, please let me know.

To fix that, I need to disable the network adapter, go to troubleshoot problems, so it detects that the network adapter was disabled, re-enable it and then it start working again, setting just the "work network", and that way avoiding conflict between 2 types of network in the same conn. I don't want to do that all the time I reboot my computer... I'd guess your 1510 has the same.

At home I just have a wireless network, so no problems. Look at the SS attached, it shows clearly what happens. However, @ work I have use a cable to connect to the internet.

... I have a DELL Vostro 1510 notebook, which I use on my office and at home.

At home I just have a wireless network, so no problems. However, @ work I have use a cable to connect to the internet. no big deal till here. It's way really annoying.

Anyone has any idea?

Hey all,

I did a search and didn't find anything related. That way, It simply won't give me internet access... But Windows 7 insists on putting in conflict 2 types of network when i connect the cable of my office's network!

My Vostro is a 1400 and there is a little switch on the front edge that lets you turn the wireless net...

Network Multiple Routers - IP Conflict

Note: Do this first, as you will have to reboot the computer to connect to the router again for the remaining changes. Connect from the primary router's LAN port to one of the LAN ports on the secondary router. JohnWill's procedure (Aug. 30, 2008) for configuring a secondary router as a switch and, optionally, wireless access point follows.

This procedure bypasses the routing function (NAT layer) and configures the router as a switch (or wireless access point for wireless routers). Since they both probably default to 192.168.1.x change one of them; for example, to 192.168.3.x). If you want the office and house devices to all be on the same local network connect/configure as follows. Setup the wireless section just the way you would if it was the primary router, channels, encryption, etc.

Note: The "primary" router can be an actual router, a software gateway like Microsoft Internet Connection Sharing, or a server connection that has the capability to supply more than one IP address using DHCP server capability. Any advice and / or solutions would be gratefully received.

If you are cascading the routers (LAN port of first connected to WAN port of second) they have to use different LAN subnets. Configure the IP address of the secondary router(s) to be in the same subnet as the primary router, but out of the range of the DHCP server in the primary router. Disable the DHCP server in the secondary router.

Certificate/Cryptography service problem causing multiple issues.

Windows 7 sp1 64, Dell Studio 1747 laptop. This also failed with the report that is corrupted. I was able to replicate
the symptoms listed on a VM by disabling the cryptography service, which suggests we're on the right track.

There seems to be a common element here, in that certificates are not being recognised. I noted in passing that Windows Update had also stopped working, by the looks of things a few weeks ago. I then noticed that on opening an elevated command prompt, UAE reports that the publisher of cmd.exe could not be verified. The cryptography service appears to be running OK, though, and restarting it doesn't help.

I downloaded MBSA and attempted to get updates manually. I think it was trying to say that it couldn't get the publisher info for the original files, so took no action. Initial report was that an iPhone driver would not install because its publisher could not be verified. On attempting to check for updates, the control panel applet reports that the Windows Update Service is not running, yet it and BITS clearly are running.

Running sfc /scannow results in a log containing numerous (incomprehensible) errors and no checks performed. That would of course explain all of the above symptoms. But, not sure what the actual issue with certs/crypto is.

-Any suggestions? (Reposted as previous post seems to have vanished)

GMA 500 drivers causing issues in Windows 7

Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated. Is there a better driver that I should be using? If I refresh the desktop my wallpaper returns and everything runs fine. I login and the taskbar comes up, but the desktop is black.

Anyone else experience this problem? Windows Updates picked up a couple of drivers, one being the Intel GMA 500 drivers. The resolution at this point is 1024x576.

Have you checked the Windows System Log or Application log to see if there is a possible explanation? The restart seems slow. I have about 45 seconds of a black screen and my cursor can be moved easily and then all of the sudden the login appears. At this point my only available resolution was 800x576.

So, I installed Windows 7 RC today on my Dell Mini 10 and everything was smooth sailing. I installed the drivers and the system restarts. If I disable the driver I'm back to square one.

HP USB print drivers causing issues

Then I downloaded and unzupped the HP UPD driver PCL5 for Windows 7 x64 into a folder. At first, it seemed simple. However, I immediately get an error that the HP 4100 PS driver is not installed. So, it looks like that easy default will not work for me, anyway.

I finally gave up and decided to try. Here I selected New Driver, and when I got to selecting the driver I chose "have disk" and navigated to one of the .inf files in the unpacked UPD driver folder I just created. When I restarted manually, I got a Windows screen saying the computer failed to start and suggesting a repair procedure. It appears that the PS driver is working.

It seemed to work. I am wondering if the PS driver somehow messed up the system driver support. Fortunately, the system booted correctly the second time.

I am wondering if I need to restore to an earlier time in case the PS driver left some kind of harm. I then deleted all current HP printers and drivers. I assumed it must have been a glitch. Again, when I rebooted, it worked the second time.

However, the next time I rebooted, the system got to the normal screen but something was wrong because any command I tried just went into an infinite wait loop. This seemed to work. When I plug in the printer, Windows 7 searches for and finds an HP PCL6 driver that it installs. However, I found that I had to select a printer port during the install, and I could find no way to identify the correct USB port that the prin...

Windows 7 Network Bridge Causing IP Conflict On Windows 98 Computer

When I started up the 98 machine, it said there was an ip conflict with 192.169.05. This time, ipconfig says is not even being used. Using a guide found on the
official Microsoft website,  saying I should try changing the ip the computer uses to connect. It is true that I could use ICS, but the thing is, I connect using a wireless adapter, not Ethernet.

There is a hardware address as well in the error box on the 98
machine, but I am not sure whether posting that is necessary. Any help would be appreciated, thank you for the help! :)  I tried changing the ip to, same error,
then I went back to ipconfig, saw that was the default gateway, so then I tried to change it to, guess what, SAME ERROR!

The weird thing is, is that in all of the times i did this before, I never had so much trouble,
and it just worked. So then I decided to use the ipconfig command on the Windows 7 machine, and saw the ip for the network bridge for it was 192.169.05.

Headset Drivers are causing latency issues, PLTGC.sys

A few months back I bought a headset called Plantatronics Gamecom 780. DPC Latency Checker

LatencyMon seems to show that the driver that is causing this is PLTGC.sys which is the driver that comes with my headset, uninstalling the driver has no effect on it. Picture of LatencyMon:

I hope someone can help me with this.

If it is a latency problem. But it always comes back and I can't seem to get rid of it. Have you run the DPC Latency Checker?

This is a problem that has been driving me up the wall lately with my headset.

What type of latency problem are you having? I have a recording studio. The Resplendence Latency Monitor tends to go overboard some times.

In recording, PC sound cards have poor latency and are considered poor for recording. I have no other visible ports to plug the headset into on the computer (2.0 USB Port in the front is busted), so I only have the ones that come with the motherboard in the back. I put up with the issues for awhile since I was in school and had no real problem with restarting the computer to get rid of the issues.

BSOD with Fresh 8.1 Reset - drivers causing issues?

Also ran some Windows updates. I got two BSOD messages so far: 1) MEMORY_MANAGEMENT 2) KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED. UPDATE: Have also encountered DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION and another BSOD (can't remember). Chrome was also crashing (I remember this had to do with the MEMORY_MANAGEMENT in the past).

Virus problems causing network issues?

Any help or guidance would be fantastic!! FRST64 makes a log (FRST.txt) in the same directory from which the tool is run (Desktop). However, the system is still not working properly.

What's causing video playback issues on my network

When I viewed the same video on my TV there was no lag.

I have a 2TB western digital mybook live NAS. The wireless router is a DIR-655. It has twonky media server built in.

I tried to view a video on my laptop through my wireless network and there was some stuttering/lag. Is it my router or the NAS causing issues wirelessly?

Its mostly impossible to stream videos wirelessly pending the quality. I was using windows media player on my laptop. The tv is wired with cat6.

I have the same issues and found this to be the case.

Symantec product causing network issues?

Back to that spare PC.

We've been having problem with PCs hanging up and losing network connections ever since an ERP upgrade required nearly everything to be replaced (yay for getting rid of 233 mhz workstations). If the start menu is open when the problem occurs, it stays open. The taskbar stops responding, explorer and internet explorer windows go all-white, but other programs continue to work.

This morning, the problem returned. ALT+TAB gets me between programs without a problem. First, I should be more specific about the problem.

This can happen for several minutes. I ran a fresh image on it to start with. It's taken me a long time just to track down the issue, and it turned out to be one of the few things I thought was safe.

I would check to see if there are any updates for the network driver, and the two apps in question. Also, does the problem go away with just one of the questionable apps loaded?

Yesterday I loaded both PC Anywhere 11 and Symantec Client Security 2.0. So I've been loading one piece of software a day, testing it the following morning for symptoms. This happens most often if the PC is left idle overnight; in the morning Outlook reports that it lost connection with the Exchange server, printers are listed as inaccessible, et cetera. When it clears everything works as normal, but slower than it should.

I finally got around to pullin...

Linksys dd-wrt firmware - BT causing network issues?

so I picked up one of those linksys soho routers and flashed it with the latest dd-wrt firmware some time back. After sometime, the router's cpu and/or memory just seems to be taking a beating, and everything slows down. I've lowered my max connections in BT to 35 total; and it's still not helping. Mind you this is with 1 or 2 torrents going, upstream only around 5KB, and downstream has been downright slow lately.

I'm having severe issues with bittorrent and outside connectivity. Generally, on most switches, when the backplane or fabric is maxed/overloaded, the switch's management interface starts to drop. any other ideas what could be causing this? This even includes constant ICMP drops of the management interface.

or is that many concurrent TCP connections/NAT'ing just too much for this router?

What version of the router is it?

Poor Power Management Drivers Causing Issues to Battery, Trackpad, Monitor Settings

Even after updating the BIOS to v39 and updated the LEM to v1.0.0.35, the issue is still present!!!  It has been months and Lenovo still hasn't addressed the issue!!! After troubleshooting, I think I have figured out what is causing the issue. Windows Anytime Upgrade to Prof causing Network Mapping Issues..

With Windows 7, you need to do both. meashink to trouble shoot. Any help would be appreciated before i lose all this hair,

Anyone help !! Tried browsing the drive and until this morning could not see it.

You also need to be on the same workgroup. Anyway went down the route of upgrading Windows 7 using Anytime, instead of wasting anymore time. Essentially saying the Share does not exist.
