How To Fix My laptop key board is messed up
Working on a laptop computer gives you flexibility and portability. Since it is prone to frequent transfer, manufacturers make sure that their systems can withstand almost every risk including spills, transport and jostling. However, laptops are still prone to wear and tear both inside and outside. Laptop errors may include hard drive failure, system crash, not enough memory and virus infestation.
Apart from the time delays on your computer work and the lost productivity, there is also the issue of expenses to fix the errors, not to mention the calls to tech support. For fatal laptop errors, some cases may require you ship your laptop back to the manufacturer for repairs.

While laptop computers may be prone to errors, there are also quick fixes to most of these ailments. If your laptop experience slow hard drive processes like a sluggish file transfer or program load times, your solution is disk defragmentation. Upgrade your RAM if your computer needs more memory and has a slow performance when using several applications. If there is excessive pop-ups, your computer may be infected with a virus.

You don't have too many options with a laptop.
If you have no experience opening one and working inside, you'd be better off to take it to a qualified repair shop. the laptop works but the keyboard is bezerk!
HP Laptop Dropped and Screen Colors Messed Messed Up
The color damage appears in cracks, but there are no physical cracks on the outside of the screen itself.
My son accidentially bumped into my laptop that was on the table and it fell on the floor. When I turned it on all I saw was color damage to the screen. Most screens are expensive.I would suggest you to call the hp support number of your country and get a quote for part and service from them.
How much does this cost to fix? How much is the cheapest warranty if that is the best and cheapest way to go?
I've really messed up my laptop
There was a message indicating that a particular browser was not active.I took this to a local repair shop, and having been charged £40 were told that it was probably the mother board. Someone else however told me that I should re-install windows.
PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT I KNOW VERY LITTLE ABOUT THE TECHNICALITIES OF PC'SI have a three year old Acer 4150 laptop running XP.
This I now gather is due to the fans and can be recified.Last week however it developed a new problem. When I selected an individual user it went through to that screen however there were no icons displayed. I would prefer to fix this problem than buy a new laptop but will do so if necessary.ThanksMichael
The first line suggests it can`t find the Hard Disk Drive and the second refers to a failure to find a boot sector on the LAN. (Not surprisingly!) Go into the BIOS and check to see if it can see the HDD. When I switch on I get the initial BIOS screen then this switches to a screen that amongst other things displays the following:PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cablePXE-MOF: Exiting Broadcom PXE ROM It then revrts back to the initial BIOS screen and these two just go round in a loop.Any suggestions please as to what I may have done, or what problem I may have.
It started switching itself off. Try switching to Default Settings and reboot.
I had never done this before but was progressing fine when the fan cut out and the laptop switched itself off, half way through the process. Now ...

Need Help, laptop is messed
It has XP with an athalon something or other. This might not work for you but has for me, you can check your BIOS setting to see if there are any fan control feature or tempeture control feature there. Usually this type of behavior is due to overheating or as I specify above the BIOS feature. I felt under the laptop to see if it was hot and it didn't even feel warm, I feel that maybe it is some bug that makes my computer feel like it's way hotter than it should be?
Then I turned it off, let it sit for a period, and then brought it back out to use during a break. Also make sure you check for viruses. You can boot into safemode with networking, and I'm sure you'll be able to access the internet and download any AV or anti-spyware program. and still was at %100, so when I looked at programs that were running and added up the cpu usage points it didnt even total 50 even though the actual CPU Usage reading was at 100%.
Also, when I first noticed the problem, the CPU usage would rocket up to 100% from about 3-5%, I tried going into msconfig and disabling all non microsoft programs for startup ect. My BIOS for instance has the ability to shutdown the computer if it gets past a certain degree or if the fan fails. Anyways I use a compaq 2700T for a computer while I'm at school. Everything worked fine for the most part until just recently.
The main prolblem began when my fan became insanely loud; so I was like wtf. Then I proceeded to boot in safemode, which a...
I believe my laptop is Messed up
I had no choice but to hold the power button til it turned off. Either way it goes away and gos black like usual, loading I presume, then a blue screen comes up with a lot of text, but it goes away within a second so I can't read it. Today, suddenly any windows I pulled up (most notably in the internet), the tool bar and webpages were either pink or green (mostly pink by far). I waited a minute then turned it on again and my bootskin was very low res, something it never has been, being pixelated and whatnot.
My laptop was running a lot slower oddly too. I have a disk Alienware gave me with the computer than reformats the hardrive back to factory/default settings. It routinely went to the thing that says "Start windows normally" or "Start with last known good configuration" or whatever.
Obviously not 100% if this is the cause, but more than likely it is: a couple days ago I did a no-no and was downloading a song off limewire, and when I went to preview it a bunch of nonstop popup things came up, and stopping it with ctrl+alt+delete worked but was laggy.
I have a Alienware m5790 laptop, running XP with Service Pack 2, for what good this info does. I was just confused as to what was going on and ignored, thinking I might've accidently change color options when clicking around. I canceled the download and delete the temporary file, but apparently the damage was done.
I'm hoping at least that will work.
Please Help!! Laptop really messed up!!
I can't open anything at all unless I do it extremely fast before everything loads but then it just freezes anyways. I don't know what happened at all. I'm trying to get into safe mode to try to use System Restore but the laptop doesn't stay on long enough for me to do so.
I haven't installed any new programs or anything that I know of to cause these problems ...they just suddenly appeared.. This would block the air from the bottom (and possibly the sides) from circulating. If I press Esc I manage to load Windows in Safe Mode but the Laptop only stays on for about 1 minute or so before it completely shuts down too. I can't even boot in safe mode because my laptop keeps shutting down on me.
If they are clogged or hindered, they may not be turning? As far as malware, if you can't keep the laptop running, it will be hard to follow the instructions.
Can you get (or do you use) a portable fan. Please if anyone has any idea what could be wrong please reply!
When I try to load windows normally everything loads including the icons and then it pretty much freezes. This usually sits under the laptop, with fans to keep the laptop cool(er). When using your laptop, you don't use it in bed (with blankets under it) do you? Do your laptop fans work?
Whenever I try to boot in safe mode I see a long list of DRIVERS loading on a DOS screen but then it stops and says something along the lines of 'P...
Laptop Messed Up
The start menu/task bar sometimes does not work (as in when u click on it nothing happens) and task manager doesnt even load up.
i have lent my laptop to my girlfriend for a few months now and atm my laptop is completly messed up.
laptop is messed
Whenever I try to open IE, it will open about 50 times.
I have a Dell inspiron 2650, it is screwed up and I dont know what to do about it. I can log onto messanger and anything else but IE.
I don't know where to go from here, any help would be great. I cannot access my internet at all. I am running windows and office xp. I have run "sfc /scannow", ad-aware, I am unable to update my mcafee because this laptop was given to me and I dont have access to update it and I cant access the internet, I obviously cannot do an online virus scan, I have just completed a disk cleanup.
Laptop is all messed up.
I need some help.
My dad's computer is somehow infected with what seems to be a bunch of crap. Here's the Hijack this log. It won't let me do a bunch of stuff like uninstalling programs.
I am doing this from another computer and the other one is not hooked up to the internet currently to prevent further problems.
HELP! All around messed up laptop!
I know i sound really naive right now, but is there a way?
Hey! It's so confusing and i was wondering if there is just an easy way to delete everything on my computer (aside from the standard programs like word, paint, or even my internet) and just restart fresh.
Also, I'm not allowed to change any properties or anything because it says i need to contact my computer administrator. First of all, it's extremely slow, with almost NO games or special programs on it. My older brother just gave me his old laptop(it's really slow) and i'm trying to work it, but there seems to be a lot of viruses on it? But there's only one account!
I'd really like to be able to use it so please help if you can!
Guy messed up my laptop....
Also if you're gonna reformat, I would suggest you download all the drivers before so you would not have to trouble of looking for them after.
If you got a recovery disc or OEM disc, you can use that to reformat to the original state or even a fresh install. You can also buy an original OS disc and reformat.
Well i bought a ASUS n61J and some dude told me a bunch of BS saying he would remove all the bloatware etc ******** , and now my computer is running slower than ever and has more programs i dont even need, is there a way to reformat the laptop so i can start fresh again.
Can't you just uninstall all the crap you don't need?
Messed up my laptop
only thing is, I went ahead with the restart! When I use a boot (maybe the one I'm using is no good) it says C: doesn't exist... I should of looked for junk/trace files, especially since it said it didn't completely remove it. How does XP know how to connect all the devices??
dump files, etc. I can get to the IBM Bios setup, but I don't really know what to do from there. I don't mind erasing everything & starting over, but don't know how, and if I could do that, would the laptop work?
I decided to upgrade my laptop to XP... Can anyone help me? Ugh... So, when I restarted it, XP keeps coming to a screen that checkes the file system, fat ,32 scans & fixes files...
Then it notified me that the Norton was not working, & advised me to uninstall & reinstall... so I did... backed everything important, did the upgrade...everything seemed good.
but it didn't change the screen still did that fix-it thing. Worked. Or should I just be taking it in to a real tech? I did try to start in safe mode, one of the times it appeared...
Should I just buy a new laptop? I think I messed up.
Long story short, I downloaded something that basically crashed my laptop when I tried to restart it. Follow the instructions that pop up for posting the results. Messed up laptop.
Please read this and try again. WHAT CAN I DO? Information Microsoft support members need from you
Says hpadmin/app/local/conduit/background. The word "conduit" itself suggests that you are probably infected but as you haven't told us anything about the problem you are having, I have no way of knowing how to help.
Messed up XP laptop
I'm sending this via another computer and transferring files via USB memory stick.
-Very slow to nonexistent log-on to IE.
-Very slow page swaps navigating in Windows.
-Windows blue Stop pages.
-Multiple malware problems I think I've cleaned only to find more. Maybe too much info for this msg but I'm not making any progress.
I loaded and ran everything I could from forum thread 35407
-Ewido Security Suite scan was balky and stopped about 90% complete with blue stop screen:
Stop: 0x0000000A (0xE2A1D4EO, 0X00000FF, 0X00000000, 0X805E42A1)
-Housecall found no issues
-Trojan Scan found Adware.Altnet.a in
-Couldn't load Panda (net connection issues?)
-Adaware SE found no problems
-Spybot didn't seem to load right, popped up an error box titled "Fehler" with the message "Tools.dll not found in !"; reported "CLSID database not found"; ran an incomplete scan with no threats found.
-Yahoo Toolbar Antispy found Apropos dialer in hkey_local_machine\software\aprps\client
After completing all this and rebooting to safe mode, the startup programs seemed to drag and it stopped to another blue screen with a different stop code:
Stop: 0x0000000A (0xE2969CDC, 0x000000FF, 0X00000000,...
Laptop Very Messed Up Help!
I turned it off, booted up again just now and it booted fine but no programs will open. Help!
(using windows xp home edition)
(Also when I try to boot in safe mode it goes to a black screen and just stays there. It booted fine but now when I click any icons nothing happens at all.
It says safe mode in the corners but just a black screen, it has like always done this)
Try deleting Antivir personal edition.
My computer was fine this morning and I installed AntiVi personal edition just to see what the program was like, I came home after school and my computer was extremely slow (left it on while at school), then I turned it off and booted back up an hour later.
