How To Fix New PC build, no signal to monitor
New PC build, no signal to monitor is the name of the error that contains information about the error, including the reason why it occurred, which system component or application was malfunctioning that caused the error, and other information. The numerical code in the name of the error contains data that can be decoded by the manufacturer of the faulty component or application. An error using this code can occur in many different places in the system. Although the name contains some details, it is still difficult for the user to find and eliminate the cause of the error without specialized technical knowledge or the appropriate software.

A user in the forum details it further:
Everything to my knowledge is connect and fitting correctly. I am wanting to build a crossfire build but after the first boot failed I took out the 2nd card and just trying to boot via one (seems to be working) card. As of now I only have one stick of ramm in the A1 slot. Also double and triple check all your connections.
If anyone could help it would be much appreciated. CD-Rom, HD, SSD) the motherboard is connected to the power correctly and the power is also connected to the video card along with it also being correctly installed. Crosshair lll formula motherboard Radeon HD 4870 crossfure rdy (i have two) AMD Phenom ll x4 black edition processor 125w 3.2ghz Hitachi 1tb hd 7200rpm Crucial 64gb SSD Rosswell 600w power supply Corsair 3 x 2GB ddr3 xms3....it says recommended for intel core i7 but im assuming that i will work with amd, also on newegg it never said that it was Intell or Amd specific. The failing memory is never a good sign.
The motherboard has a memok! test. Not sure why you bought a triple channel RAM kit if you can only do dual, seems a little odd. I have disconnected the all-nonessential bios boot hardware. (eg.
Try each individual stick through that Memok! Also i made sure the CPU is also correctly installed.the back of the video card has two dvi connecters, and it comes with the dvi to vga adpter. button, I pushed this btton it goes into a check, i'm assuming, it states on the digital readout "tuning 1" all the way up to "tuning 25' after this completed it said fail. I just finished putting together my latest computer build.

new PC build. first time build. no signal to monitor
I am unsure if it has a BIOS.
I built the PC and have all the hardware installed. u have purchased a corsair cx 500 which is not up to the job, while being a fine psu for onboard video........it is underpowered for your system
the motherboard u chose is a tad low end see reviews here http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=
No signal is detected by the monitor.
The disc that came with the mother board is in the reader drive. here is a link to my parts list
i have reseated everything twice with no results.
have u plugged in the TWO power plugs on the motherboard
have u plugged the power for the video card
have u checked the case to mobo power wire is in the right spot
the video card u have requires a minimum of 500w power supply..........
No Signal to monitor on new PC build
Being in the professional IT world not many people build them any more so its been 3+ years since I built a machine. I wanted XP machines so I opted to build them. All the fans fire up, everything is making noise but no video.
For some reason I have everything put where it is supposed to go and I am not getting any video out signal.
I have been in IT for 10+ years and been at this office for about 5. I have the 4 pin power connector plugged in the only way it will go with the 2 arrows facing each other. Here is what I am using:
Asus P5GC-MX/1333 board
Celeron 430 1.8 GHz
ExcelStor 80gb HD
Sony 18x DVDRW
Anything you guys can think of off hand.
I am having this issues on both PCs I am building also.
Clear cmos, try each stick of ram in each of the slots, go to bios, load defaults, maybe increase ram voltage but kingston should be fine with default.
I am in charge of buying new PCs when we need them and I am having a bit of a problem. I am going to take a picture of it when I get it home to see if you can see anything wrong with it.
no signal on monitor *new build*
i plug in the monitor to both monitor outputs and i get no signal. now my whole pc turns on, all fans and i can hear the dvd burner thinking, cpu fan starts up, video card fan is going so that is working. also, the little tiny speaker guy that comes with the motherboard makes no sound when i power up the pc.
so i fixed my last problem with the power, thank you for that help..
new build: no signal to monitor
i've taken the video card out and put it into my computer and the card works fine in my computer. then i put my video card into the other computer and i get nothing.
just put a new computer together for someone and it's all hooked up and powers up just fine, but i get no signal to monitor.
seems like i might have gotten a bad motherboard? new system:
GPU - Nvidia Pny FX3700

does anyone have any ideas what could be wrong or any possible solutions?

Have you tried connecting to the onboard graphics?
Ram is in correct

Just built a New PC and I have not signal to monitor. Tried different monitor and different cables DVI, HDMI, still no signal.
New build - no monitor signal
The green light is on for the motherboard and there is no onboard speaker so I can't listen for any beep errors. Any help would be much appreciated.
I just want it to be working for November 21st as Dragon Age is out and my old build will not handle that game. Somebody said that it could be because my BIOS isn't compatible with my processor, but I don't know how I could change that without being able to see anything.
Have taken it down to barebones - just with motherboard, CPU, CPU fan, 1 stick of RAM and the disk drive with the same result. They said to send it back as the motherboard must be faulty which I have done. I have made sure that the the standoffs are all in the right place and there are no extras in the back.
It all sounds like it boots perfectly so I'm really stumped. Have tried it plugged into the HDMI (DVI on the monitor) port in the GPU and motherboard - same issue. Before anyone says to change my BIOS settings - I literally can't see anything! However I've just received an email from the company and they are returning it as they have no been able to find a fault.
Any ideas what could be causing this? I have tried resetting the CMOS (I'm not sure if I did this right and there is still nothing. I took it in to a repair shop and they couldn't figure out the problem either and said I had built it perfectly (not sure of the skills of the people there though).
no signal to monitor new build
Try one stick of RAM in a different slot each time, then the other stick. I have tried another monitor and cable. Let us know how things go!
(always remove the power cord from the PC before opening and doing any work in the case!!!!)
The led on the motherboard lights up and all the fans work including the one on the graphics card.
Maybe you have a friend with extra parts? A basic 16mb used PCI video card is great for diagnostic purposes. all power connectors are connected. A used 350w power supply is good to have on hand too, just be sure it has the correct power connectors, or get some adapters for SATA, PCIe, 4pin/8pin mobo power connector, 20/24pin main connector, etc....
If this doesn't work, unplug/remove any devices that are not vital to powering on the PC. I don't think your motherboard has on-board video, so the GPU must stay in the system. I get no beeps (i do if i take out all ram). I am unable to try the gpu in a different system.
First thing to do is to clear the BIOS using the on-board jumper.
If none of this works, then we are kind of stuck unless you have some extra components laying around, like a power supply, video card, extra memory sticks, etc. If that doesn't work, I have read in other forums that removing the CMOS battery for a few minutes on the M4A78 motherboard will allow the system to boot so a BIOS upgrade can be performed. If you have a media...
New Build, no signal/power to monitor, usb
Everything seemed to go fine. Even downloaded Steam and played CS:GO for a couple of hours. I have tried reseating the GPU.
sounds like a motherboard fault although its also possible you may have lost some voltage lines from PSU to motherboard.
I then choose the option to shut down the PC. I pressed the reset button, the system seemed to reset but said that the PC did not start up properly. Since then, when the PC is switched on the monitor receives no signal and no power seems to be going to my keyboard, mouse or microphone (all connected to USB).
System Specs. (all brand new parts)
Intel Core i5 6600K
Asus Z170M Plus MATX mbd
Kingston Fury DDR4-2666 RAM (2x 4GB)
Sapphire Radeon R9 380 4GB Nitro
Corsair Builder 500W 80+ Bronce PSU
Any help is appreciated!! Then while simply browsing online my monitor lost input. No forums seemed to have someone with the exact same problem.
I just built my first PC.
Switching on with the GPU removed. I tried again, same message. The GPU fans do not. However, when switched on the case and CPU cooler fans start up.
Put everything together, installed Windows 10, installed drivers for motherboard, video card etc. Also, tried starting with only one stick of RAM installed.
New build, no signal to monitor, can't turn pc off
Plus, after the pc has been turned on, I can't turn it off using the power button on the case and must use the switch on the power supply. Power supply, fans & LEDs, video card fan, CPU fan.
Okay so long story short, I've ordered a new motherboard, CPU, Ram, Graphics card, and power supply to add to my old hard drives, cd drive, and case.
I've tried using the graphics card's video outputs as well as the onboard video output and none work. However my monitor does not receive a signal from the computer. One more thing I noticed, when I remove the Graphics card and try to start the computer, it turns on for a second and then shuts off. New computer build, no signal to the monitor
The monitor works and the cords work, I swapped out the graphics card with the one on my work computer and it works as well. The MSI motherboard RAM slots are configured slightly different from other boards. I have tried unplugging everything except 1 stick of RAM, the PSU, and the video card and there is still no signal on the monitor and it does not post. Is this a motherboard issue?
Ensure that you've put your RAM sticks in the first RAM slot (second from the CPU) and the second similar colored slot.
Here are the specs:
LITE-ON 24X DVD Writer Internal Model IHAS324
Western Digital Caviar Black WD1002FAEX 1TB
Kingston HyperX 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3
SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 7750 1GB
OCZ ModXStream Pro 600W Modular High Performance Power Supply
ASUS VS248H-P Black 24" HDMI LED Backlight Widescreen LCD Monitor
AMD HDZ965FBK4DGM Phenom II X4 965 Processor
When the system is setup and plugged in, the tower and all the fans turns on, the lights on the motherboard turn on to the "8 phase power' but I don't get a signal on my monitor. When the system turns on there is no beeping noise and it does not post.
I have also tried unplugging everything and plugging it back in to no avail.
New system build - no signal to monitor
i've tried it hooked up to the TV as well as a monitor.
i've just built a system with the following components:
ASUS P5G41T-M/CSM LGA 775 Intel G41 HDMI Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
Intel Core 2 Quad Q8400 Yorkfield 2.66GHz 4MB L2 Cache LGA 775 95W
Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 ST31000528AS 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5"
A-DATA 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666)
no video card as i bought the mobo because it has onboard HDMI. Try using the analog D-Sub connector until you can install them after the OS is installed.
anyone know what i should be looking at to fix this? the computer starts up, i get a beep, but there is no signal through either the VGA or HDMI outputs. appreciate any help!
Perhaps you need HD drivers for that port to work. no OS installed on there right now, but i should still be seeing a BIOS screen right?
new pc build keeps shutting down and starting up with no signal to monitor
am i missing something?
bought a kit from tiger direct. i get no pic on my monitor removed the sticks and all connections to board for my hard drive and cd drive but still same issue.
put it together the pc powers on for 2-3 seconds shuts off turns on shuts off all in 3-6 second loops. below are the pieces i bought
New pc build turning on but not monitor not receiving signal
I recently made a new pc build, thong is that now when i turn on the pc the cpu, and all other fans including the led lights are working but the monitor is not showing anything (tried using 2 different ones) i have tried using hdmi on both the gpu and the integrated cpu and even tried using an vga cable but nothing is working. My specs are:
Intal Core i5 7500 - Kaby Lake - 3.40GHz
CM HYPER TX3I 1366 - 1156
ADATA SP550 240GB SSD 2.5inch SATA3 6Gb/s
ASROCK B250M-HDV LGA1151
Corsair VS 650 psu
Gigabyte radeon Hd 7970 Windforce 3X HDMI 2xDP 3GB
I hope this helps, bc i have tried to get this working for 6 hours now, and i really need to get it working for an essay. I have even tried usong only one ram slot but to no avail.
First Build, Monitor says no signal, think fried CPU!!!! I saw sparks!!!!!
Well after searching online and reading other posts on the same thing I think I have either fried my CPU, Mobo, or both while building my first PC
Ill start from the beggining, the first thing i did was screw the motherboard onto the motherboard tray. During my reading i have found that i missed the seaters. Upon pressing the start button the fans and lights came on, i was filled with joy, and then sparks flew from the HS and the pc shut down. :unch:
I then spent a good 30 minutes checking every connection praying the cpu wasnt busted. continuing i placed the power supply, hd, fans, RAM, vid card, sound card, cables to make use of power button, usb, firewire in front of case.
But it seems my pc doesnt want to do anything than blow air at me and show me pretty lights. I then put power connectors to all of the needed parts except for one i overlooked. After doing that the pc will turn on seem fine, nothing unusuall happens. Problem is i am not 100% what they are, an explanation would be nice.
Fans work perfect, DVD is active (eject drive is working), the HD is spinning i can hear it. Also a reminder, WTF are seaters? No beeps either on start up.
After correctly seating the cpu i put the lever back down and applied the HS after a tough 5 minute battle that smeared the thermal material all over the cpu and probably left horrible heat transfer capability. Thank you
aslo i have hooked up the speakers and headphones and i cant hear...
Monitor stays sleeping/no signal - new build
Also, connected my phone via usb and was able to charge, so im assuming those all work too. But anyways, Anyone have any ideas? So my first assumptions is somehow i have a bad GPU but idk it could be something else, thats why i am here.

New Build get post boot beep, no signal on monitor
As in the title, this is a new build and my first build. The front power button works all the fans spin up, I have a via monitor connected to the gpu via HDMI to vga, but it says no signal. Power supply to GPU?
4 pin power supply to connector near CPU?
The speaker also gives me the one beep of post beep which means everything is working. Make and model of motherboard and GPU?
And how do I boot or get to bios? So what should I change?
Monitor says "Check Connection/ No Signal" Computer Build
I have checked my connections over and over and can't find out what's wrong. All parts were bought brand new on Newegg. I have been trying to put together a computer, bought all the parts, put it all together, but when I connect it to a monitor it says "check connection." I cannot reach the BIOS screen at all...I have tried everything suggested, unplugging the RAM and just putting 1 stick in, unplugging the video card and putting it back, even tried using a different monitor.
This is the first computer that I have built so I'm new..just wanted to see if I can get any help. Details of my build:
Asus p5w DH deluxe motherboard
Intel quad core q6600 2.40ghz
Corsair Dominator 4gb DDR2 RAM (4 single)
Rosewill 550w power supply
Phillips 20x DVD+-
Seagate 500gb Harddrive
Forgot to add the video card: Sapphire Hd 2600 pro
Solved: No signal to monitor/colorful monitor crash when gaming
I tried to RMA my graphics card but they found nothing wrong with it and sent it back. It still crashes. A few years ago i built a new gaming pc because i wanted to be able to play high quality games.
I thought it was my HDMI cable between the monitor and the pc, turns out it's not. I bought two new sticks of RAM 4GB each, still crashes. The monitor sometimes also shows different color stripes either for examples: orange, pink or grey. I've been on this forum before talking to this guy who is helping me but he's been quite busy lately so i need some extra help.
But since day 1 i've had nothing but problems. The sound of my friends on skype usually keeps going for about 20 seconds before going silent, the sound of the game shuts off instantly or goes in a loop or starts with a loud buzzing sound. I've upgraded my 650W powersupply to a 850W power supply and is one of the highest rated best performance power supplies you can find. Whenever i play one of my high quality games such as "Assassins Creed, Tomb Raider, Battlefield 3 or Primal Carnage" the monitor goes completely blank showing a "no signal to monitor" sign after gaming for between 5 minutes to up to 2-3 hours.
I've never OVERclocked anything.
Sorry for the long text, I'm trying to send as much information i have. I've also tried to underclock my graphics card by 15% and increased my fan speed to 100% when gaming. The fans and the LED...
New build, no signal?
Already stripped it bare, rebuilt - made sure things were connected and such...Could I have bought the wrong DVI cable? Just built this system and I'm having some trouble. Specs below.
I just got that cable today, plugged it in and the monitor says No Signal. What should I do?
I need some help. InWin X Fighter Chasis
Intel DP55SB Mobo
1TB WD Cavier
2900 XT Radeon
4GB Kingston Hyper V Ram
500 Watt Cooler Master (Prob going to return for 750W this weekend)
There is VGA out on the monitor and DVI into the card.
Display (No Signal) First Build
But there is no signal on the TV screen. I'm not sure whether it will automatically output to the HDMI port straight off.
That would identify or eliminate HDMI as the problem.
I've just currently finished My first PC build and have tried to plug the computer Into my HDTV (HDMI).When I start it up the computer fans and lights on the motherboard do respond and work. For instance - and I really don't know - it could be you have to configure the HDMI output once you've got the system up and running. Could anybody please share some advice as I'm puzzled and unsure. My Graphics Card is Nvidia GForce gtx 660 OC and my motherboard is an Asus M5A97 r2.0.
