How To Fix Outlook "Unknown Error 0x8007007E"

TIP: You should click here to fix Windows errors and optimize system speed.

A mistake or inaccuracy, an error is caused about by committing miscalculations on the things that you do. It is a state of having a wrong judgement or conception in your conduct that allows catastrophic things to happen. In machines, error is a way to measure the difference between the observed value or the computed value of an event against its real value.

It is a deviation from correctness and accuracy. When errors occur, machines crash, computers freeze and softwares stop working. Errors are mostly unintentional events to happen. Most of the time, errors are a result of poor management and preparation.

From the Forums

A user in the forum details it further:

I tend to thing this is more of a system/Office level problem, vice Outlook, because of the errors in Word/Excel. Recently did a XP pro install (instead of a plain upgrade), which didn't help. No help. I thought it was some Microsoft spyware that was unhappy about the new hardware, and ran the upgrade for XP to reregister.

Also, IE didn't work initially, but magically started to work OK. I can send mail with no problems. not sure which XP or Office reload did it... I checked for, and found, inetcomm.dll in the System32 folder.

I recently replaced the hard disk on my Dell PC using the disk copy utility which came with the hard disk. Everything seemed OK until I tried to run Microsoft Office 2003 applications. I downloaded a registry cleaner to see if that would help. I was unable to run the Office repair utility or even uninstall/reinstall the package.

I found and ran the scanpst.exe utility which found/fixed errors in my pst file, but did not fix the problem. Any new suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Other Office apps (Word, Excel) launch but give me a "Preparing to install" window when loading.

I downloaded and ran the Windows "install cleanup" utility and removed/re-installed Office 2003 to no avail. or the registry or who knows...   The main problem is Outlook which gives me the error "Unknown Error 0x8007007E" when trying to receive email. Maybe now, I should reinstall office, though several attempts to "repair office" did nothing.

What causes Outlook "Unknown Error 0x8007007E"

If you received this error on your PC, it means that there is a malfunction in your system. Common causes are incorrect or unsuccessful installation or removal of software that could leave invalid entries in the Windows registry, the effects of a virus or malware attack, an incorrect system shutdown due to a power failure, or another factor in which a person with little technical knowledge accidentally deletes the required A system file or registry entry, as well as several other reasons. The immediate cause of "Outlook "Unknown Error 0x8007007E"" is a failure when one of its normal operations is properly started by a system or application component.

SP1 won't install - "Unknown error" / "Service does not exist"

I have run the update readiness tool, and have run chkdsk and sfc. I've tried installing through Windows Update, as well as downloading the standalone installer from Microsoft. The former results in an "unknown error"; the latter results in a window saying that "the specified service does not exist as an installed service" almost immediately after trying.

A similar message has come up occasionally in recent days when trying to install a couple of other programs. I'm currently out of ideas and would appreciate any help.

Your latest dump says .... p.s.

Enountered a BSOD that said something along the lines of "Unknown Hard Error" with the code in the title followed by the path: \systemroot\system32\ntdll.dll
It then said something about dumping physical memory to disk.

I encountered this BSOD after I purposely powered down my machine and it had been turned off for a couple of hours. All help is greatly appreciated. Code:

NICs are showing up under "Unknown" and not "Network Adapaters'" in device manager

While it looks like both drivers are installed correctly, Windows doesn't recognize them as network hardware. Anyway I can get "Network Adapters" back in the Device Manager?

If they show up as unknown..the drivers are not installed correctly. I also tried a system restore to when they did work and they still don't work now.

There is nothing under network connections. Under the Device Manager, the Broadcom 440x 10/100 NIC and the Intel Pro/Wireless 2200BG are both under "Unknown Devices". Follow the instructions on installing those drivers.

Remove them...get the proper drives for'll probably have to transfer those drivers over using something like a USB thumb drive.

I cannot get the wired ethernet or wireless working at all on this laptop. Any ideas? There is no "Network Adapters" like there should be. I tried uninstalling the drivers from the Device Manger and restarting and XP just reinstalls the drivers and puts them right back under "Unknown".

Some programs also start to fail, "bad image" or you don't have admin premissions. system "the interface is unknown" windows xp. Also I can add programs to Symantec internet security 2005 firewall, reinstalling don't fix it.

Reinstalling SP2 or using system restore for XP don't fix any thing. maybe you removes something with hijackthis which your system needs

Satellite P500-16J - "Unknown USB device"/"Webcamera initialization failed"

I have two issues, which I think are related. The webcam is enabled in the BIOS. Windows reinstalled it at next boot, but the problem reappeared.

This all started when I uninstalled and reinstalled Skype. At the same time, my webcam failed to open. Toshiba Satellite P500 16J
Windows 7 Ultimate x86
All updates installed

Message "Webcamera initialization failed."

I downloaded the correct webcam program from Toshiba, installed it, but same result.

All help appreciated. I uninstalled the device. There is no Imaging Devices in the Device Manager. I have tried uninstalling it again, but still no webcam.

In the Device Manager, it shows under USB Controllers "Unknown device". "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)"

I tried updating the driver, but the driver was correct. I tried disabling the device. I really do not want to reinstall Windows.

Good RAID array "unknown", "not initialized" after Windows 7 crash

Due to it's size, the drive was GPT. This system has a boot HDD (C and data storage RAID5 array (D. The W7 disk managment snap-in reports that the 2793.97 GB "drive" exists, but the status is "Unknown" and "not initialized".

Any recommendations for what utllity/diagnostic/etc. The system locked up hard requiring a power down to get Windows operational gain. The sytem is fine now, except the ~3 TB RAID5 array is not seen by W7. Needless to say, the drve was online and contained LOTS of data before the crash.

Further info: The RAID 5 is a creation of the AMD SB750 "southbridge", which uses tech licensed by Promise Technology.

to try next? I ran a synchronize on the RAID 5 array and that finished w/o error, so I assume the actuall array is fine.

"Unknown Error" Doing a system restore, and weird internet problem

Did a Kaspersky virus check and nothing whatsoever.

Hey there,

Recently in the past week ive been randomly having the internet "stop working" after 30-40mins of being on it, and all websites coming up with Connection Refused, with Sky Tech Support saying its all working fine and there showing activity. Help!

So I assumed it may have been something I recently downloaded, so I uninstalled them all and it still kept happening, so I then tried a system restore, only to be met with "System Restore failed - Unexpected Error". Tried restoring around 3 times now and the same thing everytime. Im posting asking for help with both the system restore and internet problem hoping that I can kill two birds with one stone by restoring it to before it started doing all this. The internet seems to be working still and active, but websites either come up as "Connection Refused" or just don't load up at all with a blank white screen.

So no idea what either the system restore, or internet going down problems are. Help?

So far the internet has gone off after: 39minutes, 1hours 57minutes and 11minutes.

Unknown reasoning for "Error: Cannot Wipe free space for UNC drive"

So, I figured I would see if anyone here may know why this is happening. Start your machine by Last Known Good Configuration. I am on a home WiFi connection, however I haven't every had this connected as a network computer, and also have all of the network/sharing options disabled. I have not made any recent changes that I can recall which may have caused this.

All input and suggestions are welcome, I appreciate it very much! If any of these steps resolves your problem you should run a CHKDSK, and SFC /scannow. https://Problems after you have run CCleaner |
If you made a restore point try it or the closest one to before the time/date of this wipe. I have came across this forum many times in the past years when searching, and have found it to be very beneficial.

Did CC show the "Cannot Wipe free space for UNC drive" error? Sounds like something happened when CCleaner (CC) attempted to wipe the free space, Glary picked up on those changes, and it ended up being a UNC drive, and it (Glary) couldn't determine the original working directory to start itself. CCleaner acts like it does something, but having done this before, I know that it's not a few minute operation. What to try:
Before every CC run the program asks you if you want to create a backup of the registry, if you were prudent enough to do that, try running that backup.

By the way, thank you for filling out your System Specs; If you add the model number (K60IJ) of your...

would appreciate a fix soon, as one of these uninstallable updates is a patch for the FREAK SSL exploit. EDIT 4: CBS folder on OneDrive:

Please note that mediafire is a blocked source in this forum - for good reason. I really do suggest that you find an alternative fileshare site, unless you want to infest your friends with what is generally considered adware, at best, and malware at worst.

USB Thumb Drive -- Returns "Unknown Device" error

Have you checked the Removable Storage section in Computer Management?
I have a dell 8400 running XP Sp 3. Still nothing.

I have deleted the usb ports and let XP rediscover them as well as having reloaded the chipset firmware. When I plug them in it simply returns "Unknown Device" error. I'm assuming you've tested other USB devices in the ports, and the ports do work? For some time now I have not been able to read my thumb drives.

The thumb drives work fine on other systems and other usb devices (printers keyboard & mouse) work fine. Any ideas out there?

"System Error! Your computer was infected by unknown trojan...."

When I try to access Control Panel > Fonts, I get a popup reading "System error! What it wants to download, I gather, is the rogue antispyware program "Files-Secure." [SOLVED] Chkdsk freezes; "Unknown Hard Error"

So I'm really worried- is it a problem with the drive? The system seems to run stabily enough, I don't have random crashes or anything, it's only when chkdsk or AVG antivirus run that this happens. Since that was the same time I tell, AVG to scan, I assumed the problem was that: yep, lo and behold running an AVG scan causes the computer to reboot. Does anyone have any ideas?

I checked the logs and found no errors; only normal bootup information at 5 AM. The relevant facts: I'm using an Athlon X2 running Windows XP on a Seagate 500gb SATA hard drive. Any other programs that can examine and/or repair NTFS partitions?

Upon rebooting, the system locked up partway through the chkdsk on my primary data partition (Windows itself is on another partition). Next, I tried running chkdsk in read only mode from Windows itself. Running it on the problem partition, however, the same thing happened: partway through phase 1, the system locked. The motherboard is an Asus A8V.

About a week ago, I noticed that every morning my system had rebooted itself. It was during phase 1 of the chkdsk. I would hope not, it is only about 6 months old. HERE is a link for those.

I'm really at a loss. At the end of Phase 1, the system freezes, albeit it slightly differently: I get a number of "Unknown Hard Error" messages until explorer itself exits, and the computer sits there continually popping up those "Unknown Hard Error" messages. A quick internet s...

Error when installing printer: "the specified port is unknown (1796)"

The specified port is unknown."

The error appears near the end of the installation process. They said the cause of the problem is something wrong with the Spooler Subsystem Apps and that I would need to repair or update it. The full text of the error is:

"Failed to create print object Lexmark Pro200 Series (Network). I've got some decent tech skills and am comfortable doing minor tweaks in the registry and such.

I have it installed on our home wireless network and can print to it fine from two separate Vista laptops. They tried several things but to no avail, including doing an uninstall and cleaning of any Lexmark drivers, disconnecting and reconnecting the printer via a USB cable (not needed for normal operation), and reinstalling the drivers a couple of times. On an older Dell XP (SP3) desktop machine, however, when I try to install the Lexmark printer drivers from their CD, I get an error.

Any ideas how to do this? Also, no printer icon shows up in Printers and Faxes

The first thing I did was contact Lexmark technical support.
