How To Fix Solved: windows vista start up promlems
Seeing an error when you work on your computer is not an instant cause of panic. It is not unusual for a computer to encounter problems but it is also not a reason to let it be and not to investigate on the errors. Windows errors are issues that can be fixed through solutions depending on what may have caused them in the first place. Some may only need a quick fix of re-installation of the system while others may require in-depth technical assistance. It is crucial to react to the signals on your screen and investigate the problem before trying to fix it.
A lot of people find it annoying and time-consuming to troubleshoot Vista errors especially after using a large number of resources without any immediate solution on the problem. There is also the lack of basic driver support for the operating system. Microsoft Vista may be better off upgraded to a more stable OS such as Windows 7.
Some of the most common Vista errors include:
- Hardware difficult to install
- Missing application support
- Virus and Malware Issues
- Huge system resources needed
- Buggy Operating System
- Unnecessary Windows Services
- Automatic Windows Update Reboots
- Buggy and Annoying User Account Control UAC
- Slow Boot Up
- Difficult to Find the Settings

A user in the forum details it further:
Any ideas on what I can try? It starts up and goes into start up repair but when it tries to boot up it gets stuck and doesnt open.
What causes Solved: windows vista start up promlems
Whenever you see windows error on your screen, the easiest and safest way to fix it is to reboot your computer. Just like our bodies needing a shut eye for several minutes, our computers also need to shut down once in awhile. A quick reboot can refresh your programs and gives your computer a clean slate to start a new venture. More often than not, it also eliminates the errors you have encountered after rebooting. It is also ideal to shut down your computer once a week to completely put all unused programs to rest. However, when a reboot does not work anymore, use more advanced Windows solutions to fix your errors.
Fixing Windows Vista errors depends on what actually caused the error. If you have identified the actual hardware that caused the error, update your drivers using Microsoft Go to Microsoft.com and look for the hardware. Download the drivers and restart your computer to check the changes.
Another solution is to run your Windows Update manually. The fix to your Vista error may not be included in your latest update hence a fresh manual update may be needed. Other solutions may include updating your PC Device Drivers, Uninstalling and Reinstalling of the program with the error, running a windows system file checker and cleaning out your system junk.

Solved: Windows Vista won't start up
When I did there was one for Vista Service pack 1. I clicked to have it loaded and when it was done restarted my computer. I got a message on the black screen asking me to start windows in SAFE Mode ; Safe Mode with networking ; Safe mode with command prompt or Start Windows Normally. I am at the same point today as yesterday.
Yesterday windows said I should check for updates. Then I got another black screen asking if I wanted to Launch Start up repair or start normally I chose normally again and it went thru a lot of numbers clicking by and stopped with this on the screen !!Oxco1a001d !! 9496/97488 (\Registry\machine\components\derivedData\...) I then turned the machine off( since this never changed) and when asked this time I chose Launch Startup Repair. I know exactly how the problem started but don't know how to fix it. It's op sys is Windows Vista.
This then told me it would restore to a prior date. Please Help Me
System Restore can be activated from a DOS prompt, but as with the Windows method, it is not always able to restore your PC to an earlier time for a variety of reasons (even though it appears to be doing it successfully). I chose normally.
Thats when the trouble started. I let this run all night and nothing happened.
FYI I am using my laptop and it is my desktop that has the problem. Is there a way to restore Windows to a different day via Dos since I can't get into windows to do it?
However, you have...

I have a Compaq SR5710F desktop with windows vista home premium. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing.
If problems continue, disable or remove any newly installed hardware or software. Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed. If this screen appears again, follow these steps.
If you need to use safe mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer, press F8 to select advanced start up options, and then select safe mode. npfs.sys

[SOLVED] Windows Vista Start Up Problem
The screen went blank and froose I then began to click my on button to get it to restart.. it restarted correctly. but for reasons unknown I can not restart or turn off my computer because I know it oing to do the same thing of restarting it self over and over .. I have installed SP 1.
I recently began having this problem about 2 days ago. when I logged on it gave me a problem report of Nvidia graphics card caused my problem.. could anyone help ? When I got to the startup screen it gave me the system restore manager.
Some how the video began to skip, and then crashed my browser. I gave it permission to restore it and it restore correctly. Well when the problem occured I was watching a movie on line, just like any other regular day. I would like for the helpers here to know that I had my bios flashed with phalsh.exe.
ps I hope I have given enough info if not please advise me and I will gladly be of some assistance .. afterwards it restarted and began to restart over and over and over again for about 2 hours straight, When I finally was able to restart it correctly , which what I had to do was let it sit unplugged for about another hour. I am running on Windows Vista 64-bit OS.
[SOLVED] can't start Windows (Vista) after Windows update installation
problem is still there. Any help, please?
(I must say I purchased this laptop second-hand)
I would say selectively install them one at a time till you find the one that is causing the issue, and then research as to why it is doing this. I ran avast anti-virus and uniblue spyeraser... When I installed the updates shown in the attached screen printout and restart the computer (Gateway laptop with Intel T2060 1.6GHz) I get the following message: "An unauthorized change has been made to your licence", I'm been ask to activate Windows online (although I already activated Windows!), which I can't do since I don't have a LAN connection...
The only solution I found was to restore to before this update installation and disable Windows update... Someone else may have a more pinpoint answer, but this is where I would start.
which is a bit annoying, right?
Solved: Windows Wireless Service cant start (Vista)
But not before my wireless internet connection had stopped. I've tried two different wireless adapters, both with new and old drivers-- no good.
Wired connection still works. I've seen the question asked before in other forums, but with no answer.
I had a couple viruses, removed them with a few different software applications. The OP ended up doing a format/reinstall, which I'd rather not do. See the sequence in the attachment for the messages I'm getting.
Windows says "identifying the problem", then "the Windows Wireless Service is not running on this computer", then when I click "Start Windows Wireless Service" it says "Windows cannot resolve the problem". I've tried starting the service (Wlan Autoconfig), but i get "error 1068: the dependency service or group failed to start".

Solved: Windows Vista: Windows failed to start
It runs Windows Vista Home Premium OEMAct.
My aunt gave me a computer that stopped working. Insert your Windows installation disc and restart your computer.
2. Click "Repair your computer."
If you do not have this disc, contact your system administrator or computer manufacturer for assistance.
Choose your language settings, and then click "Next."
3. To fix the problem:
1. File: \Windows\system32\config\system
Info: Windows failed to load because the system registry file is missing, or corrupt. She didn't have the disks, so how would I go about fixing this problem?
Windows Vista Home Premium OEMAct
The computer won't load Windows. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. It's a Gateway Desktop; model # GT5430E.
It indicates that the page is loading, like the progress indicator bar at the bottom. You may notice it often on this forum, when the PCA site tries to contact another site such as Vibrant Media. If the page has loaded, you can click the stop button to regain full control of your computer.
If IE is having problems accessing a site the page-loading and the spinning globe stops. It is a problem with some websites.
Over 350 registry promlems (again)
I received a fully functioning 6 months free trial version of Registry Mechanic with a magazine. Ccleaner is freeware which will tidy things up but probably not as well as something you've paid for.
I have registry problems, (again) and i was wondering if anybody knew of a free registry cleaner which fixes faults for FREE i have tried a few of the main ones but they all require registering and paying £30+
any reccomendations?, any posts appreciated.
If a piece of software messes up as regards sorting registry problems you are likely to have a computer which doesn't work.
I was impressed enough to buy the program.
Audio Promlems on a MSI Laptop
I updated the drivers and checked everything I know to do. You should contact MSI and ask if this is a problem that they are aware about, and if they recommend any fixes. Also, sometimes I have to plug the headphones in for the speakers to output.
Although you updated to the newest drivers, its still possible that your drivers
could be causing the problem. Its like its opposite what its suppose to be doing.
I have a MSI A6400 Laptop and when I plug the headphones in they become disabled.. Complete this form in its entirety, and they will assist you.
If not a driver problem, your audio card COULD be faulty.
AMD processor promlems..........74 degrees
HIJust built a new pc - AMD athlonXP 2500+ (barton),256mb DDR 333 RAM, Geforce 4 mx, Asus A7V8X-X mobo, win XP - but the temperature goes up scarily high. After playing Call of Duty for about 2 hours it reached 74degrees c. Ive now installed three fans but the temp is still at about 65 when playing same game for same time.
Any ideas on what it could be or how i could resolve it?PS - Using stock HSF so it should be okay. Should i try some thermal compound (if yes which and maybe a guide to applying it, as ive never done it before!)
Ahhhh!!!Are you saying you have no thermal paste between the CPU and heatsink???!!!!Yes use some if the answer to the above question is yes!!!QUICKLY!!!!!
Laptop key board promlems
It fell off my bed and now when i type it doesnt keep up to speed even if i plug a different keyboard into it and use that. I constantly have to go back and r-type everything i do
Any suggestions on how to possibly sort it out myself?
Dropping a laptop can do all kinds of damage... If you're not comfortable taking laptops apart, you will have to take it to a computer repair shop
Ive got a toshiba laptop and i went to sleep watching a dvd on it.
promlems with wireless network card
If that doesn't help, let's see this:
Open a DOS window and type:
IPCONFIG /ALL >C:\RESULT.TXT
Open C:\RESULT.TXT with Notepad and copy/paste the entire results here.
so if someone could help me fix this problem that would be awsome. If so, disable it until you get the wireless link running, then enable it as a separate step. and now to the problem my dad has a laptop that is running windows xp home he can pull the plug out of the second computer and plug it in to his and it works fine for the net but its a pain in the *** cos that means that the other comps got no internet so dad thought it would be a good idea to get a wireless card for the laptop so he didnt have to use the cable from the other comp so he got one off ebay a D-Link DWL-G650 108mbps it all looked ok, i think it was brand new the problem is that it only half works it dad said it connects and sends packets but it doesnt receive any, so you cant share files or use the internet which makes it fairly useless.
If the cable run is long, you can use a $15 Ethernet switch to split the cable to go to the two machines. Do you have encryption enabled on the router? if any more info is required then just tell me what your after and i'll get it.
Well, the obvious question is why not get another cable.
ok i have searched like crazy and cant find the answer to my question so hopefully someone can help me out

Excel 2002 - 2 Word Wrap Promlems in List
I am sure this feature is available as I have used it before and the row height increase as you type.2. To make the above problem worse when you sort the list by a different column the row with the increased height does not move with the data and stays where it is. When a cell is formatted for word wrap the text wraps OK but the row does not increase in height auotmatically to fit the text. You have to manually increase the row height.
The data has now moved to a strandard sized row and is not all visible.Any help would be appreciatedAxel

Unable to start Windows Vista. Start up recovery producing error message
the tab would show the page's title, but the tab itself would be entirely blank). After running system restore it gives me an error message saying:
"The instruction at 0x737e989e referenced memory at 0x00000000. I was trying to navigate to a webpage in Chrome, and then webpages started to refuse to load past a certain point (e.g. I have also run the Windows Memory Diagnostic Tool, which did not find any errors.
After restarting it the startup repair program ran, as Windows would not start, and took a while checking for errors before asking whether I want to run system restore, which I do. The memory could not be read."
I then click on "OK" and the computer goes to a screen with six recovery tools on it (Startup Repair, System Restore, Windows Complete PC Restore, Windows Memory Diagnostic Tool, Command Prompt and Recovery Manager). The file exists (0x80070050)."
Now, I have since restarted my PC again, and gotten both error messages again. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
