6.0 Gb/s Board IDENTIFICATION
Do 6.0 Gb/s boards use both north and south bridges? Depends on the specific board - the North part of the North/south bridge has been disappearing for a while - many of those functions are now handled directly by the CPU itself.
Or...is there a newer for 6.0 Gb/s?
Need help with on-board USB pin-out identification
As you can see, Row 1 has four pins and row two has 5 pins. This Chaintech board has an on-board USB terminal with the following arrangement:

The above digits do not appear on the board; I put them there for clarity in communication.
I have a Chaintech 7JKD board here and I have the manual; but, the manual is no help as there is no diagram of the USB pins at all in the manual. The wires are marked as follows:
I need help identifying the pins on the board so I can properly connect the USB ports on the front of the case.
Each front port has four wires coming from it. I have also searched the internet (Google) and I can't come up with the right search terms to give me the help I need. My experience in the past with other boards is that the odd pin in the arrangement isn't used.
So, pins 1 through 4 would be used and pins 6 through 9 would be used, with pin 10 being unused. I also have a case here with two built-in front USB ports. A pin does not exist at position 5.
If you know the system number of your computer, you can get a printout with all the info of whats inside from the makers website.
I know that this may sound like a stupid question. There's no id on the board itself. I just need to know from the manual how much I can upgrade etc.
But how do I find out what m/b I have installed? I'm on win me, 200 ish mem. You can download motherboard manual when you have the info.
I want to know coz I want to download a copy of the manual for it if I can.
System Board Identification
How do I identify the System Board on this AIO? I have it mostly apart but don't see the system board part numbers yet. I would like to price it before I go further also. Can't find the Part Number in the documentation so I assume it needs to come off the board itself.
System Board FRU Identification
Having exposed it, though, I can find no FRU number on it (although just about every other part seems to have one).
Well, my trusty old T510 has finally shagged itself. I've decided to replace the system board, so have disassembled my machine to get it out (which was epic, even with the hardware manual's aid). I don't even get any error beeps - just stony silence. All of which is beside the point.
The only place I can find any similar identification is in brackets before the LAN MAC address (in my case, that code is 23S) on both the system board and the outer case. The manual shows what are apparently variants identified by a two hex-digit code followed by 'x' (I guess meaning "any"). Is that it?
I have tried https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/partslookup for my particular unit, but maddeningly it doesn't include the system board in the parts list
After months of being reluctant to startup Win XP (in normal mode - I never had any trouble starting it in Safe Mode), it has now gone off in a terminal huff, and refuses to run even the BIOS - the screen remains obdurately blank, and it makes no attempt to access the HDD. Since the HW manual lists six variants for my model (4313-CTO), I need to identify mine before I get a replacement.

Heres all the info i have. it has the at style keyboard plug, and at the top right-hand corner, it says M748LMRT REV:1.3C
Any info on this board would be greatly appreciated. it says it has AMI bios. it has a sticker on one of the chips that says AGP 8m, Ultra DMA 66, and PC99 connector.
It has a slot 1 and a socket 370
it has both at and atx power plugs.
3 sdram slots
its got a gold heatsink on the board that says Xcel 2000. Its got onboard everything.
Audio board compliance/identification
Is the audio board in fact a Realtek? Also, would that configuration be Windows XP Directsound compliant? I need that specification for an app I wish to install on the machine. TIA!

The N500 utilizes a Conexant HD Audio controller, not Realtek. I read some information on DirectSound, and I see no reason why the N500 would not support it. Hope this helps.

Problem with Sony MPEG Encoder Board
Any suggestions? I have looked on the sony website and have all the latest downloads etc. Giga Pocket wont work because of it.
Can anyone help? I have tried uninstalling and let plug and play detect it again, which it does, but still has an error. I have a Sony Vaio PCV-W1/G with a Sony MPEG Encoder Board and Giga Pocket Software. In device manager it shows a yellow error and says unable to start.
About 6 weeks ago this just decided to stop working!
Sony SDM-HS73 17" LCD Controller board
Probable causes:Controller boardBad cable (unlikely, but plausible)Or, in a very unlikely case, the controller board isn't getting power from the inverter. Which could be a bad cable also. Identification of an antique Toshiba laptop
I was trying to check the model of the laptop but only thing written is Toshiba Satelite and that's all I checked all the stickers as well. The laptop i pretty old school with IDE hard drive and extremely thick (as if you would put two regular notebooks on each other) has two fans and weights a ton, I will post some pics maybe you guys will be able to help. Something smoked inside before i got it and it don't want to recharge the battery, the ac/dc cable is a bit loose and sometimes when i move the laptop it goes down(no power in battery to sustain windows and no power on the cable).I've found a remedy for that-external battery recharger.does the battery in my laptop is by any chance similar/the same as OQO02(ths recharger is for that kind of batteries), i've looked all around the battery but there is no information regarding this.
Sony MPEG RealTime encoder board isn't compatible with Vista
When I try to install the driver it says, "Your version of Sony MPEG RealTime encoder board isn't compatible with this version of Windows" It also says, "Sony Corporation may have upgrades or other possible solutions to help make this device compatible with this version of Windows". What do I have to do so the Sony MPEG RealTime encoder board is compatible with vista?
You would need to buy a newer version of that program that is compatible with Vista.
So I am wondering if there is a program I can download to make this driver compatible with vista home premium.

Sony Laptop wont recognize sony plugin cd rom drive
I am currently downloading a win xp cd and going to try that but i dont think the computer will recognize it, any suggestions? I am currently trying to install an os on my laptop.I was having some viral problems before so i deleted the partition with a win 98 se boot disk, then formatted C: with the same boot disk that i got from bootdisk.comwhen i try to boot the computer with the boot disk in it says driver not found and takes me to a: where i can access the boot disk and also i can go to C:, but this is not my problem. I can access a: and b: when the external floppy drive is plugged in but a: and b: are both accessing the boot disk in the floppy.
It will not recognise a USB external CD drive without drivers being loaded.Does the internal CD drive work ?If so that should run properly. I have a win98se installation cd but when i put it in my external cd rom drive that plugs into my sony laptop via a cd rom interface pc card it doesnt recognize the cd drive ( i have tried all drive letter ) i plug in the cd rom drive and reboot the computer and the external drive has power and looks to be reading the cd but nothing comes up.
