A mistake or inaccuracy, an error is caused about by committing miscalculations on the things that you do. It is a state of having a wrong judgement or conception in your conduct that allows catastrophic things to happen. In machines, error is a way to measure the difference between the observed value or the computed value of an event against its real value.

It is a deviation from correctness and accuracy. When errors occur, machines crash, computers freeze and softwares stop working. Errors are mostly unintentional events to happen. Most of the time, errors are a result of poor management and preparation.

From the Forums

A user in the forum details it further:

The BITS service failed to start. There are 3 different errors shown in Event Viewer: 1. Error 0x80070002. 3. I read in a forum that I should type this command into command prompt to reinstall it: %windir%\System32\rundll32.exe setupapi,InstallHinfSection DefaultInstall 132 %windir%\inf\au.inf But command prompt just tells me that the installation failed.

The BITS service won't start. The Background Intelligent Transfer Service service terminated with the following service-specific error: The system cannot find the file specified. 2. Windows Automatic Update Service is not showing up in services.msc.

The server {4991D34B-80A1-4291-83B6-3328366B9097} did not register with DCOM within the required timeout. Thank you very much After looking more into the issue, I noticed a few other problems. 1. So far I have tried: -chkdsk -sfc/scannow -Windows Update Troubleshooter -wsreset.exe -Refreshing the image using DISM -making sure the registry key parameters were correct How can I fix this issue? I can't register qmgr.dll: the module qmgr.dll" was loaded but the entry-point DllRegisterServer was not found 2.

Windows Update error; cannot start BITS service

But that wasn't the only thing necessary. Today when I run Windows Update I get Error 80246008, and I am unable to start the Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS), which gives service-specific error code -2147024713. What I have done so far to try to solve the problem:

1. I'm about out of ideas, so some help would be appreciated.

Last night there was a power failure (lightning strike) while I was running Windows Update. The only trouble with these Fix its and wizards is that you don't entirely know what they do.

And that seemed to take care of it; Windows Update ran without error. I then ran Microsoft Fix it 50123, which apparently recreated the damaged files in the C:\ProgramData\Application Data\Microsoft\Network\Downloader folder and successfully started the BITS service.

Run Microsoft Fix It 50202 in Aggressive mode, which is supposed to solve this problem. First, I did a system restore from the last restore point prior to the power failure. It reports that it is unable to start the BITS service.

I solved the problem. Deleted the contents of the C:\ProgramData\Application Data\Microsoft\Network\Downloader folder.

3. Run sfc /scannow, which reports no errors.

2.

Solved: Access Denied error when trying to start BITS & Automatic Update Service

When going into Safe-Mode it logs straight in to the user created account instead of normally asking at logon screen which account to login with (Administrator account not in list, but does exist)
Similar to above when I created the Temp account, it logged straight in to the main user account (in both normal & safe-mode) without giving me the option (I can log in by choosing Log Out, once logged in)
When enabling/disabling an entry in msconfig I get the message about not having permissions to make the change, although it does make the change. Repairing BITS using guide on another forum. Setting a password on the Administrator account. I have done the following 'general fixes' with no success; chkdsk /r, sfc /scannow, windows update repair tool and windows repair.

I have been trying to resolve this issue since Friday with no great progress. Other information that may help:

I get the same error on the Automatic Updates service. Start the service from Administrator account (in safe-mode) and new Temp account (with admin rights). I noticed corruption on the Path to Executable:, where instead of reading %SystemRoot% it read %fystemRoot%, although I fixed these entries in Regedit.

Paul.

Any ideas would be much appreciated as I have posted this on another forum with no success (yet). The main issue is that a program on the laptop needs the Background Intelligent Transfer Service set to Automatic start, however when you try to change...

Print Spooler Service stopped Error 1068 dependency service or group failed to start

When I attempt to start it.

I am attempting to the load the software for a Canon Mx850 printer to my Lenovo PC with Windows Vista. I have gone to the command prompt and typed the following: sc config spooler depend= RPCSS however I get message access denied. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Double click on the Print Spooler service to open its Properties.

I get the following Error: 1068 dependency service or group failed to start. Not sure what to do at this point. I am set as the system administrator.

I get the message Print Spooler Service has been stopped. On the Dependencies tab see upon what it depends, and trace back to see if the cause/fix can be determined. Caveat: no guarantee this will work any better than your command attempt.

I have checked in the services area and it is set to automatic.

Very frustrating. Printer works fine when connected to laptop.

Dependency service or group failed to start error

The configuration was successful but on opening network and sharing center, I find "Dependency service or group failed to start" error message in place of the connected network name. Please help. Regards

Oddly, this error is not interfering with my internet connection whether on-campus or off-campus.

Now, if I had to manually enter an IP address, I have to go all the way through "Change adapter settings option" and select properties from my WiFi name.

Two days ago, I had to configure my PC to my college domain so as to access the on-campus network access. I could not find any fix to the issue.

The error is  the X5XSEx_Pr143 service failed to start due to the following error: The system cannot find the file specified. I was wondering if anyone could help me fix this problem/ Virus. I am pretty sure this is from a virus called "Free Ride Games" that I somehow got on my computer while cleaning it up.

I've gotten this error every time my computer freezes and makes a horrible noise in my headset, the only way to fix that is to turn the computer off. I'm sorry I didn't post in the right forums I just realized there was more I was just sick and tired of this virus that I was in a hurry.
