How To Fix Video backlit problem
Video backlit problem is the name of the error that contains information about the error, including the reason why it occurred, which system component or application was malfunctioning that caused the error, and other information. The numerical code in the name of the error contains data that can be decoded by the manufacturer of the faulty component or application. An error using this code can occur in many different places in the system. Although the name contains some details, it is still difficult for the user to find and eliminate the cause of the error without specialized technical knowledge or the appropriate software.
From the Forums
A user in the forum details it further:
If all else fails, download and install the latest video drivers for your machine. Open your video settings in Control Panel. Check your battery.
When it boots the video screen seems OK, but as windows 98 begins coming up the back lighting stops. Also check the power settings. If you are running on a low battery, the screen will automatically go dim to save battery power. Make sure it's not set to minimum brightness.
FW If that's the case, run the machine off AC power. I hope i can help you. I have a 2645 51U Thinkpad.
It may be powering down when it is not supposed to. You can barely see the image but all color and lighting disappears. Hope this helps. You may not find Windows 98 drivers on the mfr web site, but you can still get the drivers if you go to Tom's Hardware Guide, or try Google the name of the video card and drivers for Windows 98.
When Windows boots up, it takes control of the video, so what you get before Windows starts has nothing really to do with what you get after Windows boots.
What causes Video backlit problem
If you received this error on your PC, it means that there is a malfunction in your system. Common causes are incorrect or unsuccessful installation or removal of software that could leave invalid entries in the Windows registry, the effects of a virus or malware attack, an incorrect system shutdown due to a power failure, or another factor in which a person with little technical knowledge accidentally deletes the required A system file or registry entry, as well as several other reasons. The immediate cause of "Video backlit problem" is a failure when one of its normal operations is properly started by a system or application component.

T400 2764-CTO with led backlit. startup or back from sleep, the led backlit won't turn on itself
I have a 4 month old T400 2764-CTO with led backlit.sometime when I start up T400 or come back from sleep mode, the backlit won't just turn on itself. I can see what it shows on the LCD somehow if the environment is not too bright. Only if I log in and put the system to sleep again and wake it up, the backlit comes back mysteriously. Is this a setup problem or some defect with led backlit? I have tried with vista home basic and vista business and both of them have this problem.
And btw, it always happens when I run it on battery.
How to install Backlit Keyboard on non-backlit version of Lenovo Flex 2 15?
I know that the keybord can be taken off, so can the non-backlit keyboard be replaced by a backlit version. I would have thought it would be possible as someone could request a backlit keyboard part for their laptop maybe? Would the process void the warranty and where can I buy the backlit keyboard replacement? I have a Lenovo Flex 2-15 that doesn't have a backlit keyboard.

backlit keyboard retrofit and backlit model numbers.
I am going to try flash the bios with a backlit model and see if it works. Lenovo reps say that it isn't possible and that a backlit option needs to be specified in a factory order. They people have a script to "troubleshoot, "I can't imagine that there is any money to be saved in having two assembly lines, or a branch in assembly line with for this option. For the extra costs in two assembly lines, it is cheaper to solve the issue with code. They are LED lights, so it doesn't require a special high voltage power supply.

Can I replace a T460 non-backlit keyboard to a backlit one?
I recently purchased a T460 to realize that it did not have a backlit keyboard on arrival, I see aftermarket ones online for reasonable prices so I'm curious as to whether or not there is some output on the motherboard I am missing or if it would be just like installing a regular one. I have seen on forums that people have done it but I am asking specifically for the T460. No problem. Backlight keyboard is just swapped in - no other parts.

Dell Precision M6800 - non-backlit kb. to backlit? Possible?
Are those two cross-compatible? Also, I've been reading that people have problems setting the time for M6800 backlit kb (as there is no app for it) and they were using older version of Dell Enhancement Pack intended for M6700. If a replacement for my situation is technically possible, I would also appreciate a solution for controlling/configuring the light on the keyboard.
I own a M6800 that is not equipped with backlit keyboard and I was wondering if is possible to replace it with a backlit one.
T470 replacing non-backlit keyboard with backlit one
I got the Core i7-7600U model with 4gb of memory and a 500gb non-SSD hard disk (T470 20HDCTO1WW, ordered directly from Lenovo). Is is possible to upgrade this model to have a backlit keyboard? Here is the information I have gotten from my research: * The dealers selling T470 backlit keyboards warn that it may not be possible to get the backlight to work if the motherboard does not support it (for example, https://www.amazon.com/ThinkPad-01AX569-SN20L72890-Backlit-Keyboard/dp/B0727S1H14/ where they claim ?Please check whether your laptop can support backlit keyboard or not before placing the order, if can not, the backlit function of our keyboard will not work!? or https://www.amazon.com/CHNASAWE-Replacement-Backlit-Keyboard-Thinkpad/dp/B071KWWW21/ with a similar ?If your original/old keyboard does not have the backlit, this keyboard backlit will not work.? warning) * There is nothing in Lenovo?s T470 service manual at https://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc/pccbbs/pubs/t470/html_en/index_en.html#Replacing_the_keyboa...
I just got a T470.
The 2TB SSD and 32GB RAM I got from Crucial work without problem (yes, I ran a memory tester) ? although, yes, it?s a moderate pain to take off the back panel (even if you have a special plastic tool for doing so). It?s a really great laptop; I like how clear and bright the display is as well as how fast it runs. That said, on to my question: I got the model with ...

Can I replace my non backlit keyboard with a backlit keyboar...
Ram, ssd etc. Do you have an f5 action key with the backlight symbol on it? OK here is the Service Manual: Manual The keyboards are not sold by HP as a separate part: only sold with the whole top cover.
However, extracting the old keyboard from the top cover and replacing it with just the replacement keyboard is not easy and there are no directions in the Manual for that procedure. I would want to see one of these alleged backlit keyboards. Bottom line, it is possible, but I would be leery. See p. 20 The Manual does not list any keyboard/top cover as having a backlight. However, the keyboard map on p. 15 shows the f5 action key as activating a backlight on "select models". From this I gather that there is a place on the motherboard to connect a backlight cable if the keyboard has one. Have you tried it to see if maybe your keyboard is backlit? Can I Upgrade a T430 Keyboard from non-backlit to backlit?
You can interchange your non-backlit keyboard with the backlit version of the keyboard in your Lenovo ThinkPad T430. Backlit and Non-backlit version uses the same connector, therefore they can be interchanged without any problem.
